Friday Finds!

Fridays are a little piece of heaven over here at the Oakey homestead.
With my husband working around 80 hours a week, we don’t see much of him.
Fridays just happen to be his day off, hallelujah!

Taking care of the kids on my own, running my little design business, and keeping up with the old blog can be a little overwhelming, so I cherish his one day off a week.

No better way to start the weekend than sharing a few of my favorite finds/posts that have inspired me this week!

Yesterday You Are My Fave shared her favorite abstract artists. She included many of my favorites and also introduced me to a new artist. Emily Rickard’s work is bright, colorful, and stunning. I just love it. You can see the rest of her art here.

If you follow me on Instagram than you already saw this adorable Ceramic Giraffe. My local JCPenney was clearing them out for only $5.99! How adorable would this little guy be in a nursery?

Sarah from Sarah Dorsey Designs literally can do no wrong. You must check out her new pillows. Too perfect.
Have you seen Emily Henderson’s Baby shower?  Party decor doesn’t get much better than this.
Julia from Cuckoo 4 Design shared her closet makeover a few weeks ago and I have been meaning to share it. You can see all the details here, it is so inspiring.
Now I am off to get 3 consecutive hours of uninterrupted work done. How dreamy!
Happy Weekend!
xo,

Feeling Monochromatic.

Have you had a chance to check out One Kings Lane lately?
They have some really awesome stuff right now, I literally want it all.
The Elsa Rug is so pretty. The color and pattern is just perfect.
I am loving simple black and white graphic art lately, and this Thom Filicia Painting is spot on.

These  Avery Pillows would pair well with some many other patterns.

I need these Ikat lumbars. They are also sold in a pair which makes them much more affordable.
Ok,  we all know I have a thing for black and white spotted pieces.  This Black and White Headboard is a must for my bedroom. I feel a DIY coming on.

Could this grey Tory Ottoman get any better? Love the pattern and the scale.
This Napa Bench could really add some life to space.
Funny how there isn’t much color in this little round-up.
I even shocked myself.

Living Room E-Design Reveal!

E-Design is great for so many reasons. It allows you to hire a designer at an affordable rate, you can select the designers of your choice regardless of location, you can implement the design at your own pace while working from an overall comprehensive plan, and you can stay in your comfy pants through the whole process.
As a designer, there is nothing better than opening my email and seeing after pictures from an e-design.
I worked on this family room last summer and I was thrilled to see the end result.
My client was in the process of building her home when we started designing the space.
We started from scratch, she needed absolutely everything from furniture to accessories.
Here was the mood board I created. We went through several rug options before deciding on this grey trellis one.

My clients still needs to add a few pieces of art and is also still debating whether or not she wants to place a TV about the fireplace, but so far it is looking amazing.
All of the upholstered furniture in the space is from West Elm. The scale is perfect and provides plenty of seating.
The family room opens up to her beautiful new kitchen.
I kept the color scheme neutral and added in small pops of color.

I just love those yellow chevron chairs!

I am so happy with how everything came together!
I just love it.
