My Top 12 Fall Finds!

Today I am sharing with you my top 12 fall finds.
I have a slight aversion to the typical fall colors. 
Reds, oranges, and browns just don’t mix well with my current decor, so I like to welcome fall with grays, blues, blacks, golds, and whites!

$400.00 Playroom Design

It seems like most people have a playroom that could use a little love.
It’s that room that you shudder as you walk by and quickly close the door.
I love the idea of having a magical place for children to play.
A room where everything is child friendly yet beautiful.
Is that even possible? Especially on a tight budget?
Well, if I had a playroom it would look a little something like this…
You can purchase everything on this design board for $400.00 total.
I think we could call this room magical, practical, and affordable!
The Union rug is from pattern society and is $100.00 for a 4 x 6.
Even though it is small, it would create the perfect place for a reading nook.
The black & white striped teepee is from the Etsy Shop called Be Little You & Me and is $115.00.
These adorable garland are from The Land of Nod and are $35.00 for a 6 foot string. I can seriously think of a million places I would like to put these. I think they would look darling hung above the teepee.
The prints are $5.00 printables from an Etsy shop called Mod by Mel. Arn’t they perfect for a playroom or children’s room? Lucky for us, Mod by Mel is offering 25% off all her prints to DOI readers. Use the code PLAYTIME at check-out. 
I framed them in $10.00 glossy red IKEA frames.
The arrow wall decals are from the Etsy Shop The Lovely Wall and are only $15.00 for a set of 16. I think they will look awesome with the union rug and striped teepee.
The white chairs and blue storage cabinet are from Ikea. The chairs are $30.00 and the cabinet is $60.00.
That makes a grand total of $400.00!

Emory’s Bedroom Progress for $100.00!

Things have been crazy busy around here. I am booked solid with design work, I have a million DIY projects on the go, I am finalizing things for Project Stay Happy with plans to deliver the packages this week, and my baby is on the move. For some reason, I do my best work when I am busy. I secretly love it.
If you follow me on instagram (@danielleoakeyinteriors) than these pictures will be a repeat, but if not, here is a little re-cap of what is happening around these parts.
I have made some serious progress on Emory’s room.
On Friday morning here room looked like this…
And 24 hours later it looked a little different.
So far I have only spent $100.00!
I converted her loft bed into a twin upholstered bed and finally hung her DIY pom pom curtains.
Don’t worry, I will share all the details later this week.
I also can’t wait to show you what else I have planned for the room.
Project Stay Happy is coming to an end.
I spoke with a case worker at my local hospital this weekend and there are several woman on bed rest.
I divided up all the donations and I am busy working on making the packages pretty.
It looks like Tuesday will be the big delivery day!
I don’t know why, but I am so nervous. 
Several adorable totes were donated from Bright Beige but I needed a few more. I bought a few plain totes from Hobby Lobby and painted gold hearts on them. I am still deciding if I should add something else to them (border, words?)…I just want them to be perfect! Thoughts?

My sweet little Theo is now 8 months old and on-the-go.
Any work that I used to get done during his awake hours have now come to a complete stop.
He hasn’t started pulling himself up on furniture yet (thank goodness!), but he loves to hang out at his sisters level. He army crawls like it is his job and is very fast at it.

He sure keeps me on my toes!

$440.00 Bedroom Design!


I hope you are enjoying this affordable designs series.
It is challenging to find inexpensive items to create these rooms, but I must admit I love the hunt.
Today I am sharing a sweet little girls room design. I love bold colors and prints, but I also fall hard for soft serene spaces.
This entire look can be created for $440.00. I would also love to see this design used as a shared room with two twin beds, I think it would be adorable!
I recommend painting the walls a crisp white and placing the gold bee decals on the headboard wall. I plan on using these in Emory’s room as well!

 The drapery is from Ikea. $15.00 for two panels.
The print is from the Etsy shop This Sweet Season and is $12.00. I love the quote “You are SO loved,” just perfect for a little girl.
The gold wallpaper is expensive but I found these honey bee wall decals that would give the same look! I love them. $30.00
The headboard is from Target, it is currently on sale for $148.00 for a twin. 
The spotted pillow is from Etsy and is $40.00
The lamp base is from Target for $21.00 and the shade is from Target for $20.00.
The duvet is from West Elm for $90.00. I would fold it at the end of the bed when styling the room.
The nightstand is from Target and is on sale for $64.00.
Total: 440.00!

I really love the way this room turned out and it’s hard to beat the price!
