good design with kids in mind

kirsten at 6th street design school asked me to participate in a series called good design with kids in mind. Although my contribution was small, i was excited to be a part of such a great topic.
she put together a panel of bloggers who are going to give advice on all sorts of kid related design topics.

make sure you head on over, it’s going to be a week of fun.
I can’t wait!

my little broken heart…

yesterday as i was browsing our local classifieds i came across this beauty.
my heart skipped a beat, i am obsessed with the eames lounge chair (which retails around $3,000).
even though i know this is a replica i still wanted it, i’ll take what i can get.
it was listed for $75.00
by the time i got ahold of the seller it was sold, my heart was broken.
this chair is so versatile, one day i hope to own one.

hopefully i have better luck next time.

just-not-right syndrome

i hope i am not the only one with the just-not-right syndrome.
you might remember this project?
i made my living room drapery and pelmet box about 6 months ago.
total cost of the project: $58.00
pelmet box $22.00
drapery: $ 36.00

i love it but i am ready for a change!
when i first saw this zig-zag print on fabric.com i couldn’t help but fall in love.
(it is actually on sale right now for $5.58!)
it seems like the perfect fit for my new living room drapery.

it arrived yesterday and i can’t wait to get sewing.
does anyone else feel the need to change up their space often?

i’ll take it

do you ever browse real estate online?
this seems to be one of my many habits.
i currently have a crush on this beauty.

$2,490,000
slightly out of my student budget.
one can always dream.
