ikat curtain love

i’ve had a crush on these ikat curtains for a while now.
i so badly want them for my master bedroom.

calico corners offers this stunning ikat fabric for $20.39/yard.
5 1/2 yards x $20.39 = $112.00

$112.00 is much more than i wanted to spend.
while browsing the isles of my local discount fabric store, home fabrics, i found this ikat inspired fabric.

$5.99/yard x 5 1/2 yards = $33.00
ahhh, much better.

now i just need to get sewing.
my family arrives this thursday for a visit and i want things to look perfect.
does anyone else turn into a crazy person when guests are staying?

restoration hardware reinvented

restoration hardware has recently been reinvented.
silver sage walls and over scaled white trim has now been replaced with muted grey walls and mid-19th-century inspired distressed woodwork.
while flipping through the catalog i couldn’t help but notice the lack of color.
monochromatic color schemes line the pages but each piece seems to tell a story.
whether it’s a replica of an antique french bookcase, vintage indian market cart, authentic cast iron tractor seat, or a reproduction of an italian gas street light, each piece has a history.

although i have fallen in love with many of the new pieces offered, i am not sure i love the new look.
i wouldn’t mind seeing a little color or even some fresh crisp white.
what are your thoughts, do you love it?

i love me some color

i love me some color.
especially when it is mixed with pattern.
yummy.

i find these bedrooms inspiring.
no matter what i do i can’t escape my obsession with color.
