slow and steady…

i’ve been working hard trying to finish emory’s bedroom.
one of the frustrating things about designing on a tight budget is how LONG it takes.
searching the city for the perfect piece of used furniture and re-finsihing it is way more time consuming then pushing the purchase button at an online store.
fortunately, in the end it is SO worth it.
i am getting very close to finishing her room.

so far i have spent $284.00 on her room.
i still need to purchase a couple frames but hope to finish it for under $300.00!
things left to do:
*paint nightstand
*sew pillows for bed
*hang art wall
*finish chalkboard
*paint & re-cover child’s size rocking chair
ok, so maybe i have quite a bit left….

fashion friday

although my first love is interiors, i also have a soft spot for fashion.
i find the textures, patterns, colors, and trends inspiring.

i am drooling over ann taylor loft’s fall look.
casual, sophisticated, and comfy.
unfortunately their prices are a little out of my reach.
paying over $500.00 for one outfit is just not in the cards.
thank goodness for stores like forever 21.
i was able to create this $533.50 ann taylor loft look for $121.60 at forever 21.
now that is reasonable.

who doesn’t love j.crew?
classic, fashion forward, and practical.

i don’t love their prices though.
$633.50 at j.crew or $108.20 at forever 21.
not bad.

i am very excited about this year’s fall trends, anyone else?

zoey’s handmade haven

zoey’s homemade haven is my favorite by far.
i think i love everything about this nursery.
i want those drapes..and rug..and chair…ok, everything.
not your typical nursery print but i love them.

a banner, what a great way to personalize a space.

this nursery wouldn’t be complete without a chandelier.
i recognize this one, $39.99 from ikea.
what an eclectic mixture of storage bins.
sure makes diapers and wipes more attractive.

isn’t this space amazing?

considering myself lucky!

i should buy a lottery ticket today because today is my LUCKY day.
i scored 4 faux bamboo arm chairs for $75.00 total!

i am so excited.
kinda giddy actually.

now i just need to decide what to do with them.
should i paint, re-upholster, and sell?
should i keep them for my dining room?

or use them as accent chairs by my fireplace?

or an office chair?
i need one of those!

what would you do with these chairs?
what color would you paint?
