The Details Count

Yesterday I received after pictures from an online design client.
I can’t take a whole lot of credit, she had a great vision, I just gave my opinions and some suggestions.
Here is her room before:
And after…

She added the rug, artwork, ottoman, mirror, changed out the roman shades, and added a few pillows. She still plans on adding chevron stripes to the television wall. I think it will look amazing.
Her room was good before, it just needed to be pulled together.
Repetition of black and white  in the artwork, rug, and pillows really helps the room flow.
I love it.

I also helped her make some changed to her entry.
The console table looks perfect.
And let’s talk about the stripes.
She was the visionary behind these beauties.

Arn’t they amazing?
She also added a new light and artwork to her dining room.
The artwork was done by her sons, she just framed them in Ikea frames that she spray painted.
I absolutely love this home.
Pretty sure I could move right in!

I Like Change?

Every year or so I like to hang from the ceiling and take a picture.
C’mon, I know you do it too.
I think I have mangled my body into every possible position just to take a picture, that’s normal right?
Here is what my little adode looked like 18 months ago…
Ahhh!
And now…

Much better.
The drapery and dark fireplace make me cringe.
I still have a million projects planned.
I can’t wait to see how it changes in the next year.
First up, my faux bamboo chairs.
Finally.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends and family.
I must admit, I am feeling a little homesick.
There is nothing worse than missing out on holidays with the family.
Yesterday I had some friends over to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving.
It was a last minute decision so I quickly put together a feast!
I also placed some Canadian words in the middle of the table.
My American friends had a blast trying to guess the meanings of the words.
It was fun.
Luckily, I am heading back to the Great White North next week to meet my newest neice.
I can’t wait 🙂
