Anna Spiro’s Wallpaper

To say I am obsessed with Anna Spiro’s wallpaper collection would be a huge understatement.
I am particularly fond of the Rosey Posey Trellis.
And how perfectly styled is this space?
One day I will have this wallpaper in my home.
You can check out the rest of her collection at Porter Paints, I promise it does not disappoint.
Well done Anna!
Oh, and today I am heading up to Canada, wahoo!
I can’t wait, I sure miss it!

Project DIY Kitchen Makeover!

On Thursday I am heading to Calgary to help my sister with her DIY kitchen renovation.
She bought her house about 3 years ago and hasn’t had a chance to touch the kitchen yet.
It is spec home built with standard finishes, nothing is super fancy!
Her kitchen is crying for some personality, contrast, and interest.

The Plan:
– Paint the upper cabinets white and the lower cabinets grey.
-Add trim and baseboards to the island
-Add crown molding to the top of cabinets
-Add subway tile backsplash
-Add a pantry door
Since they are trying to keep this makeover under $500.00 they are doing all the work themselves.
They have already started adding the trim and baseboards to the island.
How great does that look already?
Thanks to blogs, I am regularly inspired by DIY kitchen makeovers.
Holly’s kitchen is one of my favorite makeovers, the before and afters blow my mind.
Of course I am a big fan of white cabinets, especially with those yummy grey walls.

And who doesn’t just adore The Lettered Cottage’s kitchen makeover?!

We definitely used this kitchen makeover as inspiration for my sisters.
Notice the white uppers and grey lowers?
Oh, and the addition of the crown molding?
When we first moved into our condo, I painted all my kitchen cabinets.
It sure is a lot of work, but is so worth it!
Have you ever tried painting your own cabinets?

DIY Mirrors

Today I am over at Make Them Wonder participating in Dana’s “Blogging Made Me Do It” series.
I am sharing a DIY project I completed when I first started my blog, my dining room mirrors!
Since my mom was the only reading my blog way back then, I doubt you have seen this project!
I’ll see you over there!

Affordable Unique Art

I love affordable art.
Well actually, I love really expensive art but I just can’t afford it, ugh!
I am particularly fond of over scaled photography.
You can buy a Christian Chaize piece from 20 x 200, but you are still going to pay $600.00 for a 24″ x 20″.
When I came across this piece at Urban Outfitters Print Shop, it reminded me so much of Christian’s work.
And it is only $55.00 for a 28″x 28″!
Although I wish it came a little larger, I really think this piece would be fabulous in almost any space!
They also has some other fun and unique prints.
Here are a few of my favorites…
Summer Print: $24.00

So until I can afford expensive art, I think these will do the trick.
Happy Friday!
