Is it seriously July already?

Time seems to be flying by, I wouldn’t mind things slowing down a little!

I am working on a few projects that just need the finishing touches.

Lamps, pillows, mirrors, accessories, you know the details that make a room speak.

I thought I would start out the month with a few of my favorite affordable accessories!

My color scheme feels quite fall inspired, oh my!

I am definitely not ready for fall yet, but apparently my design mind is!

Last Friday my sister and her three kids drove down to Salt Lake City from Calgary.

It took her 16  hours, what a trooper!

The trip was spontaneous, she decided to come on Thursday and was in the car by Friday morning.

It’s a good thing she didn’t think about too long, that drive is rough with little ones.

Since they have arrived we haven’t stopped.

We have been everywhere I can think of, it has been so fun!

I have learned something new about myself lately, I am the worst blogger on vacation and “stay-cation”. I just can’t get it done! 

Hang in there with me, summers are just a little random around here.

They leave in the morning, I am so sad to see them go.

It has been the best week!

The other day I came across this image on Pinterest and fell in love.

I wouldn’t typically pair red and yellow together, especially in a nursery, but I think it looks amazing.

Even though the color scheme is a little out of my comfort zone, I think the abundance of white makes it work.

This is why I absolutely love Pinterest, blogs, and shelter magazines. 

Although I hold great value to my education in interior design, I can’t deny how much I grow as a designer everyday when I turn the computer on. I feel so lucky to be exposed to so much!

I am never at a loss for inspiration and always have examples of great design at my fingertips.

Even if you don’t have a design background, looking at a well designed room can teach you so much.

I am working on a blog series to teach you a few basic principles to follow when designing a room, hopefully it will be helpful!

You must see this old school house that was turned into a family home…it has stolen my heart!

In my mind, there is nothing more charming than an old home with lots of character.

Doesn’t this place just make you want to move to an acreage, renovate an old home, and plant a big garden?

I am having serious home envy right now, how about you?
