My New Joy & Revelry Shop!

I am excited to share with you my new little shop over at Joy & Revelry!
Joy & Revelry is an awesome online retailer that sells home decor products. They also have several style mavens that curate collections by selecting products that they would recommend. This is a great way for a blogger/designer to recommend products and make a small commission without dealing with the logistics of running an online retail store. Plus, it allows shoppers to purchase products recommended by the designer of their choice.
I would say it is a win win!
Let me show you around my shop!
So far I have curated two collections; Classically Eclectic and Color Me Modern.
Classically Eclectic is filled with neutral bases, shiny metals, and unexpected accessories. I love the mixture of traditional lines, whimsical accessories, and vintage touches.
Color Me Modern is filled with Mid-Century pieces, graphing patterns, and colorful accessories. I wouldn’t mind owning every single piece!

I hope you swing by and take a look!

There is no holiday quite like Christmas.
Every year I can’t wait to pull out my christmas decor, drink hot chocolate, and watch Christmas movies with my family.
I also loooove getting new decor items each year to add to my collection.
As I have been browsing for furniture/accessories for design clients, I have stumbled upon some pretty great Christmas decor that I can’t help but want.
This season I plan to share with you some of my favorite items, starting with a a theme I have noticed to be prevalent in this years holiday decor…I like to call it Woodland Chic!

Thrifty Tuesday: Affordable Decorative Mirrors!

It isn’t very often that I complete a design without specifying a decorative mirror.
Unfortunately, mirrors can be expensive and I am constantly searching for affordable options.
These 6 decorative mirrors are the top of my go-to list.
1.2.3.4.5.6
Best part, the most expensive mirror in this round-up is $70.00!
Now of course these mirrors are not huge, but they are perfect in gallery walls, above a bed, in a hallway…anywhere really!
Do you love a good decorative mirror too?

A Salt Box Home Tour

Today we are ending this awesome week of home tours with Staci’s stunning home.
Staci, from the blog A Salt Box, has such an incredible eye for design.
I adore everything she touches.

I am a wife to a man whom I adore and a mother of three beautiful children. I have lived in Salt Lake City my whole life and have always had a love for design. As a young girl, I collected stacks upon stacks of fashion magazines and after high school toyed with the idea of attending Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) to graduate in fashion design. Practicality won and I stayed local, obtaining a degree in business.  My love for fashion has evolved into an obsession with interior design. Fashion and interior design are pretty synonymous in my world.  Visualizing spaces, conjuring deliberate plans and seeing the execution of those brings me great enjoyment. My mind is constantly conceptualizing different ideas for my own and others’ homes.
For years, I carried in my handbag a torn-out magazine picture of a saltbox style home.  Historical-looking homes with a modern spin are my favorite. My husband and I recently finished building our home for which I conceptualized both the interior and exterior based on that tattered photo from the magazine.  Seeing it come to life was extremely rewarding. Prior to our current home, we remodeled two 1960’s houses.  I design the plans and my husband carries them out by spending sweaty hours making our dreams become reality.
I tend to lean toward a modern/contempary style but do enjoy an ecclectic mix of various design styles. It seems that gray, blue and green always pop up in my designs so I would say those three are probably the colors I am attracted to most.
