window treatments

i find myself always using simple panels for all my windows treatments.
these diy pelmet boxes are the perfect solution to add variety to your windows.
jenny, author of the little green notebook, created easy and inexpensive, step by step instructions to create these stunning pelmet boxes.
check them out here.

she also made the headboards and the duvet covers.
i think the overall look is extraordinary.
i can’t wait to make my own pelmet boxes this week!

jonathan adler

jonathan adler is a talented designer.
he also has an extraordinary line of furniture and accessories.
i wouldn’t mind having a few of these items adorning my home.

unfortunately adler’s products are quite expensive.
but if you are willing to spend the money, i would say his designs are worth it.
i love this simple geometric rug by jonathan adler (left).

i would say this rug from is a worthy substitute (right).
it may not be a jonathan adler original but it will give the same clean look for a fraction of the price.

the most simple way to dramatically change a space is color.
paint, wall paper, or accent pillows can quickly bring life to a room.

making colorful spaces flow room to room can be a challenge.
consistency in trim, baseboards, flooring, and lighting will unify the home but keep each individual space unique.

good design

good design does not always come with a big price tag.
until you are ready to invest in high end furniture and accessories, these look-a-likes will do the trick.

i hope to have the arco lamp join my home one day!
