what’s emory wearing wednesday

today we lounged.
nothing says comfy like a pair of leggings.

blue and white striped shirt from joe fresh style ($6.00), pink leggings from target ($8.00) and brown leopard flats from joe fresh style (on sale for $5.00!).
i love dressing emory in comfy clothes.
no buttons, no zippers, nothing itchy or scratchy.
what’s better than comfy clothes?
comfy clothes with style!
also, i am well aware that my images are overexposed.
i am working on my photography skills.
baby steps.

Thrifty Tuesdays: DIY Campaign Dresser Makeover

while browsing online for DIY campaign dresser inspiration, I came across this successful DIY campaign dresser makeover.
the incredibly talented jennifer from belladwella was inspired by this campaign dresser in lonny magazine.
she spotted these beauties on craigslist for $118.00 for the pair.

she removed the hutch, added a couple coats of paint, and success!
isn’t it beautiful?

i think she did an amazing job.
i am also smitten by her mirror!
speaking of mirrors, i found this faux bamboo mirror on ksl classifieds yesterday.
the perfect mirror for above a campaign dresser.
if only i had the space for it.
it’s only $45.00 and is still waiting for a home!

now i just need to find the perfect dresser for myself.
i am crossing my craigslist fingers!

office makeover plans

now that i am back from my 3 week vacation in canada, i am ready to get some projects done.
my entry/office (gotta love 900 sq ft!) has been on the top of my list for a while now.

when we first moved in the fireplace was painted cream.
my original plan was to paint it grey, which i did, but now i regret it.
although i love the grey color, it makes the space too dark.

i am going to re-paint it a crisp white.
have you ever painted brick before?
not fun.

so here are my plans for the space!

1. paint the fireplace
2. stuff the fireplace full of cut logs. such an inexpensive and stylish fix.
3. send my faux bamboo chair to the painters. (yes, i still haven’t done this!)
4. make or purchase an inexpensive sunburst mirror
5. find (or create) a white campaign dresser.
6. buy a fuzy rug
my budget?
$100.00
i can’t wait to get started!

mid-century modern alphabet art

i am drooling over this alphabet art by blue art studio.
$39.00 for an 11 x 17 print.
who wouldn’t want their child learning the alphabet and a classic mid-century modern piece at the same time?

i can hear emory now “i is for isamu noguchi table”.
ok, maybe only truly appreciated by an interior designer.
