What NOT to do: Matchy Matchy

I sure hope you are loving this series, because I think it is great.
These ladies have so much great advice and I am soaking it all in.
It’s time for…
Tip #3
We have the lovely Stephanie from Sabbespot, Christine from Bijou and Boheme, and Sarah from Flourish Design + Style discussing “matching” furniture…cringe.

This mistake is typically made in the bedroom.
I always stay away from bedroom sets that have a matching bed, nightstands, and dresser.
Mix things up, add some personality to the space.
You can even have two different nightstands!
Make sure you come back this afternoon for an overload of fantastic “basic decorating tips” from these ladies!

What NOT to do: Trends

We are back with more…
Tip #2
Amber from Amber Interior Design, Sarah from Flourish Design + Style, and Kate from Centsational Girl are here today discussing following design trends.

Whether it be Chiang Mai Dragon fabric, sunburst mirrors, or chevron print, if you love it use it!
If it isn’t you thing, don’t!
Since trends come and go so quickly, it seems almost impossible to keep up, so stick with what you love.
Make sure you come back tomorrow for tip #3!

What NOT to Do Series: Tip One

I might be lounging on the beach drinking pina coladas, but I still have a fantastic series for you!
I asked 6 expert designers and bloggers to share their top 3 tips on What Not to Do when designing an interior.
I am so excited about the experts.

Does it get any better than that?
Let’s get started with tip #1.
Kate from Centsational Girl and Kirsten from 6th Street Design School are kicking off our series with one of my top What Not to Do’s.

I couldn’t agree more.
It is SO important to have multiple lighting sources in a space.
I also love a dimmer switch, who doesn’t?
Also, don’t forget to appropriately budget for lighting, it can be expensive and is often overlooked when planning a budget!
Make sure you come back tomorrow for tip #2!

Get Ready…

Tomorrow I am heading to Mexico, without the kiddo or the hubby!
I wish Zack could come, but Medical School does not allow for any fun, especially 2 months before the dreaded boards!
I am tagging along with my family and I can’t wait.
Don’t worry, while I am gone I have a fantastic series lined up.
It’s called…
