diamonds at the dump.

this morning we took a trip to the okotoks alberta dump.
it was a like a dream come true, stylish furniture and accessories for only a dollar or two.
we bought a mirror, lamp, chair, and wall hanging for $10.00 (can this be real?)
give this chair a quick spray paint and new upholstery…i am drooling.

the dump was filled with old pictures and picture frames, i bet you could pick up 20 for $5.00

we bought this mirror. i think it will be perfect in my sister’s house.
it was $4.00!

i can picture this table in a bedroom or living room.
it has so much character…i want it.

this queen bed is the find of the day.
can’t you picture this headboard spray painted in white or a funky color?
best part, i bet it would sell for $5.00

lamps, they had so many.
replace the shade and they would be adorable.
we also bought this chair, i just can’t resist a cane back chair for $2.00

the top drawer on this tall boy was broken, i bet it would be an easy fix though.
isn’t it lovely?

this is the perfect bed for a kids room.
i even think it is cute in yellow.
why don’t i live closer?

if you live in the calgary area you must make a trip to the okotoks dump.
with this place around, everyone can afford “new” furniture!

antique cabin

i’ve spent this last week with my family in canada.
we stayed at a charming antique cabin for our annual family reunion.
each room (all 12 of them) was filled with treasures.

oh how i wish i could get my hands on some of these gems!

birthday wishes

tomorrow i am turning the big 26.
i have my eye on a few things…

inspiration boards

everyday i browse the internet.
i look for things that inspire me, make me excited, and that i want.
somedays i find so much.
i always save a picture.
my desktop is a complete mess, filled with tiny little pictures.
i think it is time to start an inspiration board, a place to display the things i love.
this office is adorable.
a large piece of cork does the trick and everything looks so organized.

i love the idea of displaying funky stationary.
looks like a piece of art to me, and functional!

incorporating inspiration boards into everyday interiors, not just the office, is exactly what i need.

this eclectic inspiration board also functions as a piece of art, even in the entry.
it would be kinda fun to be greeted by an inspiration board.

above the sofa? why not?
sometimes small spaces have to function as multiple purposes.
i think it works.
