Chic and Unique – Salt Lake City

on saturday i spent my afternoon browsing local furniture shops.
chic & unique has to be my all-time favorite.
It is located at 778 south 300 west, salt lake city and is a must see.
The store is full of gems.
furniture, antiques, accessories, lighting, and so much more.
i just can’t get enough of this buffet table.
i love the color, style, hardware, well everything about it.
$200.00, i would say that is a deal.

The prices are also very reasonable.
it is hard not to leave with a car full of purchases.



i spent quite a bit of time gawking and taking pictures.
i was even lucky enough to meet the owner.
very sweet and has an incredible eye for design.

dressers galore, i bet this one would add some life to a bedroom!

antique accessories, i love them.


$150.00 for this stunning desk.
i love how the drawers are left natural.

i would say this store is worth an afternoon shopping trip.
i can’t wait to go back!

interior design school portfolio

somedays i feel drained.
today was one of those days.
my mind wanders back to design school, how did i do it?
design school consists of sleepless nights, scrambling to meet deadlines, last minute computer malfunctions, and many many headaches.
i loved every minute of it.
tonight when feeling not-so-productive, i decided to take a peek at my interior design portfolio.
4 years of insanity resting perfectly in one box.

in the semester before graduating we were required to create a perfectly designed portfolio.
100 hours later i successfully compiled all four years into one box.
those four years consisted of endless elevations, floor plans, and design boards.

perspectives, site plans, furniture plans, and specs specs specs!

one of my favorite projects was my contemporary and historical architecture and furniture book.
i can’t even begin to count the amount of hours i spent on this project.

if i could survive 4 years of interior design school, you would think i could get through one day with a 2 year old!

they are such an easy and inexpensive way to add interest to a wall.

i think i still have a silhouette diy project brewing.
it consists of animal silhouettes and plates.
i am always trying to think of creative ways to display teaching tools in emory’s room.
i can picture a cluster of animal silhouettes on her wall.
especially an elephant, those are her favorite!

now should i do white on black, black on white, or color on white?
