Party Sneak Peek!

Emory’s 4th birthday party was a success!
Here is a sneak peek…
And this picture perfectly describes Em’s silly personaility.
Planning, preparing, and throwing a party in 24 hours is exhausting.
I’ll be back on Monday with all the details, right now I need a nap!

Party Planning!?!

Tomorrow we are celebrating Emory’s 4th birthday.
She is completely obsessed with princesses and has been begging me for a princess party.
How could I not give her one?
I am feeling completely overwhelmed though.
The bar for kids parties seems to be set pretty high these days, especially in the blogging world.
And I am WAY behind in my planning/prepping for the party…ok, I haven’t even started!
My plan is to keep it simple yet magical, can it be done?

Here are my ideas so far:
*Ombre balloon wall
*Sword and crown sugar cookies
*Fruit kabobs
*Wand and sword party favors
*A wishing pond
So what do you think, good or no?
If you have any great and easy party ideas, I am all ears 🙂
Wish me luck!

Modern Corporate Office Design

I don’t typically design corporate spaces.
They don’t interest me and I don’t have a whole lot of experience with them.
Although, recently one of my good friends convinced me to help him with his new office space.
I was hesitant but I agreed.
Little did I know, I would love doing it.
He came to me with a picture of a desk similar to this one.
I couldn’t of been happier with his selection, it sure made my job easy.
He wanted comfortable, simple, modern, and streamline.
Here is the original design board I came up with:
Although the design is slowly evolving, the general direction gets me so excited.
Anytime I get to spec the Eames Lounge Chair, I am a happy camper.
One of his main requirements was a sofa.
I found this mid-century modern inspired sofa at Crate and Barrel.
Best part, it comes in an apartment size as well, perfect for a corporate space.
I headed over yesterday to check it out.
It was very comfortable yet still sleek, perfect.
I am also toying with swapping out the upholstered chairs for these leather beauties.
The lines are to die for.

And these potted Papyrus plants are so cool!

I am really excited about this project and I can’t wait until the furniture arrives!
I guess corporate design isn’t so bad after all.

5 Design Details

Not only is Lonny magazine packed full of beautiful images, but it also makes me re-think interiors.
I found the latest issue of Lonny so inspiring.
Here are my 5 favorite design details from the issue:
1. Black Wood Ceiling.
I adore this black wood ceiling. I have yet to paint one of the ceilings in my home, but I love the drama it adds.
2. Painted Trim.
This faux painted wall trim is so simple yet stunning.
What a great way to add a custom look inexpensively.
3. Black Walls.
Nothing makes white pop more than black walls. I want it, I need it.
4. Mirrors.
I love how the television is surrounded by simple mirrors.
I am always looking for ways to decorate around televisions, this is perfect.
5. Solid Canvas
I love this solid black canvas above the sofa, and I am pretty sure I could pull this DIY off.
I think it would work in any color, not just black.

I would love to include all of these details in my home one day.
Which detail is your favorite?
