Children’s Art Collage!

I am head over heels in love with this children’s art collage by Jan Eleni Interiors.
You can order your own custom piece, but it will run you at least $950.00.
One day, I would love to order one!

Until then, Emily from Merrypad, created a DIY children’s collage tutorial.

I think it turned out so cute and such an affordable solution.
Now I just need to find the energy to give it a try 🙂

Affordable Linen

I am helping one of my good friends with her master bedroom.
We have a few “must haves” narrowed down, one being a linen tufted bed.
We plan on getting the bed locally made. That way we can select the exact fabric that we want and hopefully save a few $$ too.

The hardest part about creating a custom piece of furniture finding the perfect fabric.
We have decided to go with a charcoal linen, but linens can get pretty pricey.

A couple weeks ago, Jenny from the LGN mentioned that one of Emily Henderson’s favorite linens for upholstery projects is Gray Lines Warsa Linen. The best part, it is $9.00/yard for $100% linen!
I immediately looked it up and ordered the swatch card.

When the card arrived, I was more than impressed with the colors.
They are even better than in person, and the D.Grey is the perfect charcoal.
Although I loved the colors offered, I was a little concerned about the quality considering the price.
So, I emailed Emily Henderson to ask her about it.
And to my surprise, she emailed me back almost immediately!
Here is what she had to say:
“I’ve never had problems with it, and I’ve used it for about 8 years. You can call them and order a swatch card if you aren’t in New York – i think they are $10 a piece for the ‘warsa’ collection and they also have a ‘home decorators’ collection as well that is even thicker. For a headboard that isn’t going to get a lot of wear and tear (opposed to a sofa or chair), I wouldn’t worry about it at all.”

Don’t worry, me and Emily are now BFF.
Anyways, if you are on the hunt for a linen, this one comes highly recommended.
I can’t wait to get this headboard made!

DIY Painted Rugs

My living room rug has seen better days.
It has served us well over the last few years, but it needs to be replaced.
Unfortunately, rugs are so expensive and there is a big possibility that we will be moving for Intern year next June, making me not want to invest too much in a new one.
I know painted rugs have been around for a while, but I have seen a few inspiring ones lately.
I absolutely love Sarah’s, from Sarah M. Dorsey Designs, Moroccan painted rug.
It sure does look amazing, and can you beat $60.00?

I also love this geometric painted rug featured on Design Sponge.

The coral is stunning!
Do you think this is a DIY worthy project?
Or would you spend the money on a “real” rug?

Beautiful Nursery

I came across this nursery, on Me Oh My, last week and fell in love.
Although I typically like to add color and pattern to my interiors, I think a nursery is the perfect place to keep things simple.
That rocker is to.die.for.

And I adore the small prints and large mats!

Doesn’t the whole room seem like it is full of items gathered over time?
This antiqued wardrobe couldn’t be more perfect.

So pretty.
Now if only I had 3 bedrooms instead of 2…boo!
