Nursery E-Design

Have I mentioned before that I LOVE designing children’s spaces?
I recently completed this nursery design and I just love how it turned out.
Since my client is expecting her first baby, she wanted to keep all the main elements in the room gender neutral, allowing them to work for future babies regardless of the sex. She already owned the crib and glider, but needed to pull together the rest of the space.

I really adore the graphic print of the blue and white rug mixed with the wood dresser and gold accents. Obviously we couldn’t leave out a few pops of pink.

At first my client wasn’t sold on the blue and white rug, so I put together a more monochromic option.
I quite like this look too, but it’s no secret that I am a color girl at heart.
Which look do you prefer?

I love both rooms, but I think the blue rug is more practical for a baby/kids room. it gives a little more punch of color!!! Love the dresser! Hate that restoration hardware is so darn expensive!

I like both, but I feel the blue and white rug in the first scheme pulls it together more and gives the room a good ‘anchor.’ Hope she likes both! 😉

Both rooms are just gorgeous. I think the blue rug is more practical for messy kids though 😉
That painting is my FAVORITE! I’ve been eyeing it for my little girl’s room for ages, I need to just break down and buy it 🙂 Where is the moose head from? That would be the perfect piece to finish my boys room.
