DIY Black & White Stripes

i painted the stripes and absolutely love them.
they are just what the room needed.
i went with 10 1/2″ black and white stripes.
yep, it is chalkboard paint!
i might not tell emory about the chalkboard paint, still debating that one…
i did leave her a little message in the corner.

it is right behind the wicker chair.
isn’t it amazing what a little paint can do.
it changes the whole room!
i am not the only one jumping for joy about the stripes.
someone else was a little excited…

ok, maybe a lot.
although i love the results the stripes weren’t a complete success.
my walls have a little texture and the paint bled through the tape.
so it looks like i have some touching up to do.
regardless, i still think it was worth it!
what do you think?

I love it! We ( my husband) have striped 2 rooms in our house. I am so pleased with the results. My very patient husband says ‘”no more stripes ,please” I will reveal one striped room next week on my new public blog. PS your daughter couldn’t be any sweeter!!!

The look great! I have been thinking about doing stripes in my son’s room but wasn’t sure what only one wall would look like…I love it.

looks really great! I just joined your blog last night. Where did you get the plates above the bed? Just last night I was trying to decide which direction to go….. plates or gallery frames?? I am liking the plates!

They look fantastic! In your first post it was hard to see the slant to the wall because of the white on white, but it’s more visible now with the stripes and I like it! 🙂 Great work!

I did stripes and chalkboard paint in my house also and love it!!! I have a suggestion for the bleeding paint even though your finished. ” Frog Tape” It works wonders! Unless that is what you used. . . then touch up it is.

The stripes look fantastic and the whole room in fact. We did stripes in my youngest sons room a while ago (thick) and I still love looking at them. Job well done! 😉

It’s ridiculous how great they look in that room. You really have a great design eye. Is there any way you could give the info on the fabric on that headboard, I literally can’t stop looking at it.

I’ll admit, I had my doubts when you told us your idea. You really rocked this one though, it looks fantastic. Those plates over the bed are really what make it work for me. Great job!

The room looks great! It is really happy and fun. How did you attach the DIY headboard to the bed frame? I would like to do the same for a twin bed and I just wasn’t sure if you could screw it right on or how that works. Thanks!

Purchased that same floral you used in your headboard for two big pillows. Loved it so much went back and got more for a big tablecloth. Recently made a neckroll-type pillow and used one of the flowers from the fabric for the round ends. Definitely one of the best prints I ever bought and am loving the way you used it in the room and combined it with striped walls. Great design!
