typically i do all my own painting.
it’s a great way to transform a piece of furniture for a low price.
this time i’ve decided to hire a professional to refinish my faux bamboo chairs.
i want them finished in a high gloss lacquer, apparently it’s not that easy to do.
so off to the painter they go.
with a quote of $25.00/chair, how could i resist?
junque is a local company that specializes in custom painted furniture.

i am overly impressed with their work.
you may of seen some of their pieces at emilie jayne, one of my favorite local consignment stores.
i wouldn’t mind owning this antique dresser.
doesn’t it look great in aqua?
what a funky piece, it sells for $130.00
this highboy is calling my name.
i have a thing for antique dressers.

make sure you check out their blog.
or if you want to get a piece refinished, their prices are fantastic.
now i have to decide what color.
i typically always do white.
i am thinking of branching out, i am leaning towards this blue…

OOOoh! I had to go check this out! So cool! Thanks for sharing. Be sure to post those chairs!
25/chair is an amazing price! I can’t wait to see them finished!

That peacock blue colour for the chairs is amazing!! I saw go bright!!
Yes, love that blue! And I agree, very good price per chair…
I always want to refinish myself, but somehow become paralysed at choosing the final color!
That blue is so fantastic! I love it!
I once saw a chair like that done is this gorgeous raspberry colour… it was in a Better Homes and Gardens I think, and it looked gorgeous! I don’t think you can go wrong picking a bright colour you love! 🙂
Can’t take my eyes off the blue bamboo chair. Amazing. I love it. Anxious to see your chairs.
$25 a chair is a great deal, especially since you got a great deal on the chairs to begin with. I am loving that blue, you should definitely do a color.
Love the blue color! Nate mentioned something on his show the other day I thought was quite interesting…car paint places are apparently a great place to get things (furniture) laquered! Who knew?! Can’t wait to see how they turn out.
that blue is gorgeous…or navy? Maybe have her paint just one and check it out before you commit to all of them?
omg im in love with that dresser….i really want it lol x
I like that blue. We have some friends who have that same shade of blue with an old farm house table and a super modern chandelier. The color works great.
that’s not a bad price at all, i would send them off too 🙂
That blue is electrifying! I think if you go with a jewel tone you will get your money’s worth. That is a fantastic price. Oh how I wish Louisville was a tad more in interior design than it is. Ugh…SOuthern Indiana alone SCREAM wallpaper, maroon, and forest green — enough said.
Cheers~
Love the idea of your chairs in high gloss – I think they’ll fabulous!! And depending on where they’re going the blue could be great!
wow, what a great price! it wouldn’t be worth the hassle of trying to get a perfect gloss finish yourself if that’s all it costs to get a pro to do it! 🙂
I would totally pay someone else to paint them as well! The blue is stunning.
$25?!? That IS a no brainer! You will not regret it. I swear painting my bamboo chair took years off my life. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
I can’t believe they’re only charging $25 each. That’s nuts! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Love the blue, it will look great!! $25 !!! What a deal. I will visit the site as well…..
