off to the painter.

typically i do all my own painting.
it’s a great way to transform a piece of furniture for a low price.
this time i’ve decided to hire a professional to refinish my faux bamboo chairs.
i want them finished in a high gloss lacquer, apparently it’s not that easy to do.
so off to the painter they go.
with a quote of $25.00/chair, how could i resist?
junque is a local company that specializes in custom painted furniture.

i am overly impressed with their work.
you may of seen some of their pieces at emilie jayne, one of my favorite local consignment stores.
i wouldn’t mind owning this antique dresser.
doesn’t it look great in aqua?

what a funky piece, it sells for $130.00

this highboy is calling my name.
i have a thing for antique dressers.

make sure you check out their blog.
or if you want to get a piece refinished, their prices are fantastic.
now i have to decide what color.
i typically always do white.
i am thinking of branching out, i am leaning towards this blue…

That blue is so fantastic! I love it!
I once saw a chair like that done is this gorgeous raspberry colour… it was in a Better Homes and Gardens I think, and it looked gorgeous! I don’t think you can go wrong picking a bright colour you love! 🙂

Love the blue color! Nate mentioned something on his show the other day I thought was quite interesting…car paint places are apparently a great place to get things (furniture) laquered! Who knew?! Can’t wait to see how they turn out.

That blue is electrifying! I think if you go with a jewel tone you will get your money’s worth. That is a fantastic price. Oh how I wish Louisville was a tad more in interior design than it is. Ugh…SOuthern Indiana alone SCREAM wallpaper, maroon, and forest green — enough said.

    Cheers~
