while browsing (or blog stalking) on an old friend’s blog i came across this inspirational diy project.

leah, the author of boy + girl, transformed this old secretary’s desk into a functional vanity/jewelry box.
she has a great eye for design and immediately knew this beauty had potential.
she snagged the desk from her local thrift store for $10.00.

a couple coats of paint and it was transformed, almost…
she also found this jewelry tray at her local thrift store for $1.00, what a steal.
it is the perfect solution for keeping her jewelry organized.
Now THAT is a fabulous idea! It turned out wonderfully! Janell
Who would have thought! What a great idea

What a thrifty idea!and love your blog…will stop more happy week
Amazing! Do you mind if I re-post on my blog? Remind me, are you in SLC?
stephanie- sure, you can re-post it and yes i am located in SLC.
Brilliant! xo
Wow, that is an extremely cheap transformation. I’m pretty impressed. Painting furniture always worries me because every time I’ve tried it I think I used the wrong kind of paint and it ended up a little sticky. Hate that.
I just stumbled upon your blog for the first time and thought I would say hello. I have a blog about the art world, but studied and worked in the interior design industry, so I love to see what people are talking about.
I hope we get to see more of each other in the blogging community!

Lovely! looks great, just the kind of DIY I LOVE!!
This turned out so well! I love that she used an uncommon piece of furniture as her jewelry chest. Job well done!
