curtains + croup

i’ve spent the last week playing hard with my mom, sister, niece, and nephew.
between playing we managed to sew my zig-zag curtains.
i love them, they are just the change my living room was needing.

unfortunately emory caught a cold from her cousin, croup to be exact.
since she was born at 24 weeks (16 weeks premature) she catches everything!
she is miserable.

let’s hope we can avoid the hospital this year!

fashion to interiors

diane von furstenberg is now trying her hand at interiors.
she is designing a line of upholstery fabrics.

“so smitten with the bold ikats and florals she recently sent down the runway that she decided to bring them out of the closet and put them on chairs, pillows, and curtains.” – elle decor

her fabrics are bold and colorful.

i think this fabric is perfect for the dress, chair, and curtains.

they sure make a statement in interiors, don’t you think?

welcome diane, we’re glad to have you!
happy weekend!

loving hobby lobby

i have recently fallen in love with hobby lobby.
they have some great treasures for very low prices.
it’s not hard to find a sunburst mirror in most interiors.

they are so versatile and look amazing in each space.

i adore this vignette, the sunburst mirror and the gold pig, ahhhh!

this adorable sunburst mirror is from hobby lobby.
the $49.99 price tag makes me want it more.
my local hobby lobby is having a 50% off home decor sale.
that makes this mirror $25.00, i’ll take it!
remember nie nie’s basement designed by alice lane?
i can’t get enough of the art cluster above the sofa.

my favorite piece, the small house on the shelf.
it is so unique and adds dimension to the wall.

these birdhouses from hobby lobby would create the same effect.
this charming birdhouse is only $24.99

or this one for $11.99

or this one for $19.99

hobby lobby also has an incredible selection of knobs/pulls.
they look so similar to anthropologie knobs but for a fraction of the price.

i love this beautiful knob for $3.99

and this one for $2.99

i highly recommend checking out your local hobby lobby.
i just love it!

thrifty tuesdays: your trash, my gem

while browsing (or blog stalking) on an old friend’s blog i came across this inspirational diy project.

leah, the author of boy + girl, transformed this old secretary’s desk into a functional vanity/jewelry box.
she has a great eye for design and immediately knew this beauty had potential.
she snagged the desk from her local thrift store for $10.00.

a couple coats of paint and it was transformed, almost…

she also found this jewelry tray at her local thrift store for $1.00, what a steal.
it is the perfect solution for keeping her jewelry organized.

notice the lovely paper lining the drawers and table top?
she purchased it for $.10/sheet and simply mod podged it to the desk, stunning.

i love the subtle color and pattern to the paper.
it adds that extra special touch.

the charming anthropologie knobs complete the look.
total cost: $44.00
i would say this is a diy success!

what do you think?
