Rug Crush

I’ve got a serious crush on William and Sonoma’s Casual rugs.
Their prices are great too.
Starting at $148.00 for a 6 x 9, sounds like a deal to me!
They are also perfect for a bedroom.
Aren’t they lovely?

DIY Cushion Ottoman

I came across this simple DIY ottoman a while ago.
I like it.
It is simple and inexpensive to create.
I was at Ikea the other day and I fell in love with their striped outdoor cushions.
I immediately thought about the DIY ottoman.
And since the cushions are outdoor, maybe an outdoor DIY ottoman?
If I had an outdoor space larger than 6′ x 3′ than I would definitely make it.
Someone else do this please!
Ikea also has some great outdoor lighting.
These chic pendants are solar powered.
So are these adorable lamps.

They would give the perfect glow on a beautiful summer night!
Happy Weekend.

Textile Thursday: Cove Street

Today, we have Katie from Cove Street here.
Katie full of great ideas and is also a DIY lover!
I am so happy that she agreed to show us her favorite textiles.

Hi guys, I’m Katie from Cove Street and I’m excited to be here today! I adore Danielle and her blog and I can’t wait to share with you, some of my favorite textiles from around my home.
First off is my entry way, I fell in live with this tapestry from Calico Corners but the price tag was fairly steep so I bought 3/4 of a yard and framed some to add a little character to the space.
This ottoman is the perfect spot for my kids to sit and put their shoes on. The black and white “chipper” fabric from premier prints balances out the punch of blue.
A rug can be a textile right? I hope so because this is the best purchase I’ve made in a long time. I’m completely sold on indoor/outdoor rugs, especially black and natural geometric ones 🙂 This print it quite bold but I’m amazed at how the rug blends without being understated.

My little Owen’s nursery is a favorite spot of mine, largely because of the textiles in here. I paired this floral from calico corners with an inexpensive solid and stripe and I think it makes the room. I love the texture that the nubby throw adds to the space, it makes you want to curl up and get cozy.
Lastly, I don’t think a room is complete until the personal items are added. My mother-in-law is an amazing quilter who made this beauty for Owen. (sorry, not the best picture) the colors are what draw me in, nothing matches but everything blends. Just how I like it!
Thanks so much for taking the time to look, and to Danielle for having me today!

I love her framed tapestry, the color and pattern is stunning.
I also adore her baby quilt, the color and detail is so charming.
Thanks so much Katie!

a long night…

We had a little scare last night.
Emory has been sick with a fever and a cough for the last couple of days.
Around 7:00 pm I was just about to put her to bed.
I gave her some Triaminic (Tylenol), washed her face, and then washed my hands.
As soon as I finished washing my hands, I notice that her face was full of Triaminic again.
I hadn’t put the lid back on and she drank it!
I felt sick.
I called poison control and they said we needed to go in.
We had to wait until 11:00 pm to go to the ER in order to get an accurate blood test.
She was sick and tired, poor thing.
Getting the blood drawn was very dramatic.
She did not like it one bit.
We then had to wait, and wait, and wait.
Luckily the test came back normal.
She must not of consumed enough, what a sigh of relief!
I definitely won’t be getting the mother of the year award anytime soon…
Back to design.
I am guest posting over at Simple Dwellings today
I am participating in her “if my blog was a room series.”
