Design Projects i-Phone Style!

I try and keep my local design work to a minimum.
Since my #1 priority is being a mom, I find e-design works best with my schedule.
I have been working on a few things lately though, all of which are for close friends (which makes it fun!).
Since I don’t always lug my big camera around with me, my i-Phone has become my best design assistant!
Yesterday I spent the afternoon looking for a new faucet and sink for a friends powder room.
Since we were on a tight schedule, they needed to be in stock which made the job a little more challenging!
I am a big fan of Chrome fixtures, nothing polishes up like them.
Best part, chrome is always the least expensive finish available…love that!
We didn’t end up going with any of these, but I’ll definitely show you once it’s all installed.
It’s amazing how many different options there are for vanity sinks.
And the prices vary greatly, anywhere from $70.00 – $400.00.
I ended up going with the bottom left sink.

This week I also had a chance to check on an office I have been working on.
All the furniture and art has arrived, now it just needs is a few accessories!

I am loving how it is coming together.
Hopefully I can finish it next week and take some pictures of the whole space.
This is just a peek at the seating area, the desk area is pretty great too!

And lastly, my fabric samples for my friends master bedroom drapery arrived.
We were deciding between these two, but ultimatley decided on the left one.

You just can’t go wrong with Schumacher Zimba.
Pretty sure I will have drapery envy once these bad boys are hung!
Also, a big thanks to everyone who commented on my last post!
I’m still deciding on the color, but I think I have narrowed it down to red or yellow.
You guys are the best!

It’s a Boy!

Well, I almost can’t believe it myself, we are expecting a little boy!
I guess I didn’t realize how much I thought it was a girl, because I am in complete shock!
I am super excited, from what I hear boys are great at cuddling and love their mommas…sounds perfect to me.
Here is our little guy’s profile, isn’t he a cutie?
Ok, maybe only a mom can find an ultrasound picture cute.
Now that I know we are expecting a boy, I can’t stop designing the bedroom.
Since moving into our condo 3 years ago, Emory’s room has made a couple changes. It started off with her big girl bed.
And then she graduated to a loft bed.

Now it is time to make a few more changes.
I need to make this room gender neutral, working for a 4 year old girl and a newborn baby boy.
I also want it to be fun and playful, since this rooms doubles as the toy room.
I plan on keeping the white loft bed, black and white chalkboard stripes, the blue drapery, and the aqua furniture.
I am going to switch the pink loft bed drapery to plain white and add ric rac ribbon trim.
I’m still not positive on the color, but I want a fun and bold color.
Something like this…

Next, I plan on buying a Jenny Lind crib and getting it painted!
I’ve already found a few on my local classifieds, making it a very affordable option.
Now this is where you come in.
I’m debating between 3 colors…red, aqua, or yellow?
1.2.3
Keep in mind, I’ve already got the aqua furniture, black and white striped wall, and Emory’s white loft bed.
So, what’s your vote?
Red, blue, or yellow?

Jaw Dropping Home Tour

The newest issue of Lonny is out, and of course I found a home tour that melts my butter!
This home was built in the 60’s and is packed full of charm.
The woodwork is all original, and they painted the walls a crisp white…my favorite!

This dining room is so amazing.
You can’t beat natural light, and this space has plenty of it.

I love how the home is infused with pops of color, but is still so calm.

Who wouldn’t want to live here?
It is perfect in my mind!
You can check out the rest of the home tour here, it is lovely.
Also, I found out the gender this afternoon, I can’t wait to know!
