Thrifty Tuesdays: DIY Ikea Rast Tables Complete!

My pulls for my dressers just arrived in the mail and I immediately put them on.
I decided to go with the ones I originally saw here.

If something works, why change it?
These beauties were $55.00 each.
And I sold my old nightstands for $100.00 total.
I think the extra $10.00 was worth it, don’t you?
I also wanted to share some of my favorite fabrics from fabric.com
I am really impressed with their selection.
I have a thing for blue and green lately.
I think I adore this combination.
Go here, here, and here.
I also wouldn’t mind this monochromatic combination since I am obsessed with blue!

Go here, here, and here.
Thanks fabric.com for providing a designer look for less!

Affordable Furniture?

One of my favorite things about being a designer is shopping for furniture and accessories.
I love Salt Lake City’s variety of inexpensive and second hand furniture stores.
My first stop is always Home Goods.
If I ever need a lamp for a project, this is my go-to-place.
Lately I have been eyeing this one, the navy blue trim looks familiar…
I also love this union jack chest of drawers.
It could add life to any room.
I recently spotted this upholstered ottoman in this popular floral fabric.
$149.00 is such a great price for this statement piece.
My second stop is always Chic and Unique.
They have the best prices in the valley and have a great selection of used and re-finished furniture.
Last week I found these paintings for $35.00, I think they have great potential.
The thin gold bamboo frame is stunning.
I would simply paint the mats a peacock blue.
Don’t you think they would look perfect flanking either side of a bed?
Emilie Jayne is a gold mine.

This little store is packed full of gems.
These turquoise faux bamboo pieces are beautiful.
and the prices make them even better!

Now & Again is a recent find for me.
Each piece in this store screams incredible.
I want these black horses!
and this stunning mid-century modern dresser has me drooling.
These four stores are just a taste of the affordable furniture stores in Utah.
Good design doesn’t have to be expensive, you just have to look!
I can’t wait to share with you the pieces I found for my clients.

So Canadian, eh?

I am honored to be participating in Barbara’s So Canadian, eh series over at Hodge Podge.
Although I currently live in the United States, I was born and raised in Canada and will always consider myself a Canadian!
Head on over here to learn more about my background, design icons, future plans, and what I do in my spare time!

3 incredible years…

Miss Emory turns 3 today.
I just can’t believe it.
My baby is now a little girl.
She had a rough start but you wouldn’t know it today.
This is one of my favorite pictures from our 3 month stay in the NICU.
I wonder what she was thinking?

She also turned out to be quite the fashion diva.
and model…
I can’t think of anything better than being a mom.
especially to this little girl.

Happy birthday Emory!
