My Living Room Lighting Selections!

*I partnered with World Market for this post but all opinions are my own*

Deciding the right lighting for my living room was one of the hardest decisions in the design process. Lighting is considered the jewelry in interior design, so making the right selections is really important to the overall look.

Our living room does not have a ceiling light, so not only did I need my selections to be ascetically pleasing, I also needed them to provide all the functional lighting for the room.

Early in the design phase I fell in love with this World Market Floor Lamp. I love the matte black finish paired with brass and the shape of the shade. The long stems are adjustable making endless configurations possible and adding a unique element to the room. It also gives out awesome light which was a must for this room.

Don’t you think it is so unique? When I look at the space I can’t help but notice it. I LOVE that.

I am not a big fan of matching all the lighting in a room. Since the floor lamp is black and metal, I wanted to pair it   with a table lamp that adds a little warmth and introduces a new material. This Wood Table Lamp was a winner for me from the moment I laid eyes on it.

And don’t they look so pretty together?

I love the soft light the cream shade gives off and the pieced-together wood base. And it so nicely ties in my with my ottoman and chairs!

Mixing textiles, leather, wood, and metals are so important when creating a space. It adds that visual interest and really makes things feel welcoming. Lighting is the perfect place to do this!

I really love how things are coming together, and I can’t wait to get some drapery up to help keep some warmth in during out first Wisconsin winter! AHH!

I also snagged my ladder, tree basket, and marble side table from World Market. Man, they are killing it lately! So what do you think? Do you like my selections?
