DIY Oversized Photography Art!

I have been wanting an oversized photograph for my living room for a while now.
I would love to get my hands on a piece by Gray Malin but it just isn’t in the budget.
Luckily I own a starter SLR camera and decided to give it a shot (no pun intended!).
I headed down to Laguna Beach and pretended I knew what I was doing.
With a little editing (thanks iPhoto) I managed to get a few frame worthy shots.
If I can do this, anyone can!
I printed it at Art.com when they were having a 50% off sale a few weeks back.
Their sales happen often, so just keep checking back and you are bound to get a deal.
I knew I wanted to use this Ikea Frame, you just can’t beat the price for such a large size! ($24.99)
I also wanted the photograph to be as large as possible so removing the mat was a must.
I selected the 30″ x 40″ printing size (originally $45.99) and trimmed a few inches off the edges to fit the Ribba frame.
The large printed photograph cost $23.00 and the white frame $25.00, making the total only $48.00!

I am really happy with how it turned out.

What do you think?
Would you willing to give this a try?
xo,

That is beautiful. How is the quality of the print? I have some engineer prints I’d love to replace with a better product and this would be an affordable option!

Danielle! This is so incredible! I’m an ig follower and have been scrounging all over Google trying to find a pic I could print similar to this! So I have an awkward question. Any chance I could buy your pic? 🙂 I’m landlocked in Oklahoma, but used to live in Sydney and have been wanting a gray malin print but… $$$! 🙂 I would love a copy of your pic above!!
