I think I can get away with the second rug being smaller. Just big enough to add that pop of color and pattern.
I have a few ideas of what I want to happen in this space. . I would love to get my hands on some ethic textiles, a pop of color in the drapery, and some graphic and abstract art is a must.
I quickly threw together a design board, with each picture only representing a general look, not the necessarily the exact item.

Great options! I think navy would be my first choice and the striped would be my second choice.
Oooo I hadn’t seen some of the new magical thinking styles yet…love them! With your darker sofa and chair (which I love), I would go lighter/brighter with the rug, and less blue tones. Maybe the purple! You’re very sweet to solicit our opinions…I’m sure you will get many! This room is already coming together so well…it’s going to be awesome!

I LOVE that teal rug, but when looking at the design boards you created, I am digging the striped rug or colorful rug for your space!

The purple Locust rug! It would add a nice pop of color (different from the other colors in this room) and keep it light and bright!
