Today I have such a fun kitchen transformation.
One of my readers recently tackled her kitchen renovation, and I begged her to share the before and afters with us! She has a great eye for design and I love how she took a basic kitchen and made it shine.
Here is the before…
And the after…
She painted the cabinets, added floor the ceiling subway tile, new cabinet hardware, and a new pendant over the sink…I think she nailed it.
She even tiled the wall dividing the kitchen and the family room.
So pretty and unique.
You can never go wrong with white cabinets.
I can’t say that enough!
Subway tile for the win right?!
Now who is inspired?
I know I am.

Thank you for the post! So very flattering! My lower cabinets are actually grey. Much more so than they appear in the pictures, I just realized how light they look in the morning sun.

OMG!!!! This is STUNNING!! Painting cabinets white is always such a huge difference but the subway tile knocks it out of the park! Subway tile is affordable and to met this looks likes an uber expensive ktichen! BRAVO!!!

Before and afters are my favorite, especially when they are as good as this one. Love that the entire wall is tiled.

LOVE this!!! incredible!!! This space is truly special and exciting. Do you have any idea how much that costs to add subway tile on an entire wall all the way to ceiling? I love the way this turned out.
Rebecca says
Obviously it depends on the size of your wall, and if you do the work yourself or hire it out. I did two walls and the tile was about $500. We hired out the work and I want to say it was around $3500 for the tile work. I’m sure you could find just a tile guy to do it for less, but we used a contractor.

thank you so much for sharing! i appreciate it!

This is so beautiful. I love a white kitchen. But, since my almost 4-month old will need a high chair soon, can you share the brand of yours? I like the look of it and how easy it seems to clean up.
Rebecca says
I can’t tell you how much I love this high chair! It’s a Boon and it is super easy to clean!!

What color white are your cabinets? Are the bottom cabinets a different color (could just be the way it appears in the photo). Thanks so much!!

My upper cabinets are Sherwin Williams Extra White. My lowers are Sherwin Williams Online (grey). I had originally picked out the color Network which is a shade darker, but I panicked at the last second and went lighter. I love them, but kind of wonder if I shouldn’t have gone with the darker…

I love this transformation. Where did you get your wooden shelves and brackets? I’m about to move halfway across the country from a sweet bungalow that was built in 1921 to an apartment built within the last decade in Los Angeles. With that major change, the thing that I can’t stop thinking about is what shelves I’m going to put above our table.
Rebecca says
The shelves and brackets are from West Elm. They are sourced from reclaimed wood, very sturdy, I love them! Good luck with your move!
