I have spent the last few weeks working on making over Emory’s room.
Since we are only living in this rental home for the next 9 months, I kept my budget really small. We are also planning on selling all of our furniture before the big move to California, so I didn’t want to put much money or time into something that I just have to turn around and sell.
I converted Emory’s loft bed to an upholstered twin bed, sewed the drapery, added the wall decals, and used accessories that I had around the house.
The total room makeover cost is $150.00.
I am absolutely in love with the honeybee wall decals.
I purchased them from The Lovely Wall. They are $15.00 a set and I needed 2 sets for her wall.
I purchased them in gold metallic and they have the prettiest shimmer.
I hung a couple gold mirrors I had laying around on the wall.
I purchased the purple linen bed fabric from Home Fabrics (a discount fabric store) for $5.00/yard. I am pretty sure it is actually Serena & Lily fabric, so I am pretty happy about getting such a great deal! I also scored the white drapery fabric for $5.00/yard and purchased the black pom pom trim from JoAnn Fabrics (and used my 40% off coupon).
I purchased the floral pillow from an Etsy Shop called Aurelia. It was a splurge, but I LOVE the Manuel Canvas Misia Fabric.
I also hung one of my favorite white mirrors above the cabinet that holds all her toys.
Considering my tight timeline and budget, I am pretty happy with the results!
I think it feels a little more homey and settled, which I think is important even if we are only living here for a short time.
Also, make sure you check back tomorrow, I have a great giveaway! Just a hint, you could score yourself some adorable wall decals!
xo,

Absolutely Darling! I agree with the bee decal – really lovely and adds that extra visual interest in the space Danielle! Great job!
Thank you!
Adorable! I am sure she already feels at home with such a cute little room!
She does love it! She is working on naming all the bees as well…a big task but it keeps her busy! Ha!
It is so perfect Danielle! What a good mom.. I would be so inclined to just leave the room as is since it’s only 9 months but instead Emory gets to sleep in a sweet little space!
I debated just leaving it, but I just couldn’t stand it. I think I am officially addicted to decorating.
Precious! Love the bee decals. Lucky little lady!
Thanks! The decals are for sure my favorite!
Love love the bees! So cute!
Thank you! They are so detailed too and really easy to put on!
Love it! FYI if that is the Target lamp(not the UO version) there was a recall on it. I had it in my nursery but had to return it because it is a shock and fire hazard. Bummer, right?! Fortunately, I was at Target yesterday and they have just put out a new ersion of the lamp. Not as good, but still cute. Just thought you should know 🙂
No way?! That is so good to know! I need to take my back then…
Yup, it was plastered all over the news a few weeks ago and seeing as how it was in our babe’s nursery, figured we better comply 😉 Kind of devastated over it, though. I loved that lamp!
Danielle, it looks awesome! It’s amazing how much of a transformation you were able to complete with such a small budget. Those gold bee decals really elevate the whole room. Great job!
Thank you! One day I hope to have a larger budget to work with, but for now being thrifty has to be my middle name!
What a sweet room! Those bees are so cute. Love it!
Thank you!!
I bet Emory loves her new room! Great job on the bed transformation, and those cute bee decals just make the room. Fantastic, Danielle!
Thank you so much! She does love it and it just feels so much better!
I love everything about this room makeover! Once again another magazine worthy post! What a lucky little girl to enjoy such a beautiful space
Thanks Mom!
Such a beautiful room… lucky girl! I would love to know where that darling white mirror is from!
Thank you! It was actually from HomeGoods about 3 years ago! Gotta love HomeGoods but I hate it when someone finds something I love from there because there you can’t just go get one yourself! Sorry.
You pulled that all together so quickly. So pretty. I am sure E just loves it. And that purple fabric was such a score. I am on the hunt for pom pom trim to I will check it out. . and remember my coupon!
I figured if we are only going to be here for a short time, I better get-er-done! Yes, always remember the coupon! You can get them sent to your phone via text too.
Love her room! kind of want to move in 😉 You’ve done a fabulous job as always
Thank you! Our room is not as nice as hers…maybe I should swap her!

Beautiful! I love the wall decals and the bed transformation is pretty incredible! Nice work!
Thank you!!
Very sweet. I love the bed. Lisa xo
Thank you! I am really happy with how it turned out and it was super easy!
I really love the decals…would you mind sharing exactly which color you purchased? I don’t see “gold metallic” in the drop down box on The Lovely Wall’s Etsy site.
Thank you in advance!
Hmm, I don’t see that option either. It is called Gold Metallic. Maybe just convo the shop asking for that color? That is what I did. I let the shop owner know that several people are looking for this color, maybe she will put it in the drop down box.
I love what you have done!! My 2 year old’s nursery has a napoleonic bee design in it and I just love those decals. We rent too and they would be perfect for updating her space to a big girl room. Amazing results for a short time frame and budget! I am a blogger living in Northern California so if you are ever in Norcal when you move, shoot me a message. http://www.decoratingdelirium.com
We are moving to Orange County, I am assuming that is pretty far? I am not so good with my California geography yet!
Orange County is beautiful and you will love it! But it is about 6 hours away from me. California is soo big. I am near San Francisco, if you ever head that way. Love your blog!
That’s one adorable room!
OMG!!! I adore it …so cute!! I love how you placed the mirrors!
SO CUTE!
What a stunning bedroom!!! TOTALLY blown away with the price! Definitely knocked it out of the ballpark 🙂
