Last week my sister sent me a picture of her back entry hall.
She was ready to add a little life to the boring grey walls but didn’t want to spend much money.
She had the idea to paint a small section in black chalkboard paint, but we decided it would look best to paint the entire wall. She used Rust-oleums black chalkboard paint.
I wish we had a before picture, but here is the wall once it was painted black.
She then hung several unused gold frames and mirrors that she had collected over the years.
A little chalk doodling and her back entrance was transformed!
I think she did such a fantastic job and I love how much drama it adds to her space.
So, what do you think?
Would you be brave enough to paint an entire wall black?
xo,

This looks so darling! It is brave, but its also JUST paint! What fun everyone will have drawing on it.
Have a great week.
xo Nancy
Agreed! So easy to paint over if you didn’t love it. Funny how scary paint can be sometimes!
This is gorgeous! Adding the gold frames was SUCH a good idea. Love it.
I love how the gold frames look with the black!
Simply beautiful! I’m only painting a small section in our mudroom, but this one is really a stand-out!
Oh, I would love to see that!
Looks great! I would def paint the whole wall black. Adds a richer feeling.

I agree! Helps to make the wall look bigger too!
It looks awesome, I love the drama of a black wall!
Thank you! I love it too!
We did a blackboard wall in our kitchen/dining room and it’s the #1 thing we get compliments on when people visit. Love her version!
Oh, I bet it is SO pretty!
It looks so great! And even better because your drawings are so cute!
Thanks Cassie!
This is beautiful and cute all rolled up into one! I am such a huge fan of black and white, it makes it even better with something whimsical thrown into the mix.
I love the wall with the frames! one of my dining room walls is full chalkboard paint and I love it. It is a wall that you can only see from in the dining room so it’s a fun little surprise when you enter the room without being overwhelming.
This is sealing the deal for me….IF we ever end up closing on this house we’re currently under contract for, I’ve been dreaming about painting all of the walls black and accenting with gold. Love this!
And by all of the walls, I mean in one room. HAHA!
love it so so much! Nice work Chelsey.
