Whether or not I am in the market for new furniture for my home, I am always crushing on something.
Lately there is one design trend that I can’t get out of my head…blue sofas.
In my opinion, the style of a sofa sets the tone for the room. It typically is the largest piece of furniture in a space and naturally draws attention.
Although most people typically go with standard neutral colors (white, beige, brown, grey) when selecting a sofa, I can’t help be drawn to sofas with a little more color, especially blue.
Emily Henderson used this insanely gourgeous blue tufted sofa in one of her designs.
I am obsessed.
Jenny from The Little Green Notebook reupholstered her vintage sofa in this beautiful blue fabric.
And we can’t forget about Bri Emery’s living room designed by Emily Henderson.
This living room from Lonny is still a favorite of mine.
Of course it has a yummy blue sofa!
And I think this aqua sectional is just plain fun.
Have I convinced you yet?
If so, here are a few blue sofas that I have my eye on…
So what do you think?
Could you see yourself jumping on this trend?
I totally would, and I did! Although mine is green, but it was a vintage find and I couldn’t pass it up. I love what it does for the room.
I really want to do a navy blue velvet sofa in my next home….I feel like navy blue is a neutral 😉

I’ve been considering a blue sofa for the living room lately. So, yes, I’d definitely do it.
I love number one!
We have a green sofa that was handed down to us, and while I wouldn’t have necessarily picked a color sofa (I’m a total neutral gal), being able to layer netural pieces around the anchor piece in a color has made the room so much more cozy and interesting. And being able to play off that hue (like the layers of blues in some of the images above) is a great jumping off point. The tufted number is my favorite. 🙂
I don’t know if I have the guts to go with blue (I’m too practical) but I love the way it looks!
I would love to do navy but I’d be afraid I’d get sick of the lighter options!

I have a light robin’s egg blue sofa! Bought it almost three years ago, so of course I’m all for it! 🙂
I’d definitely go for a blue sofa! Could be a great focal point, especially for an apartment 🙂
We made the plunge last Christmas and haven’t looked back since!

I love those bright blue sofas! Thought I doubt I could talk my husband into it! We’re leaning towards a navy at the moment – http://www.jkhnelson.com/2013/06/25/jen-darlings-living-room-design-comfortable-chic/ – now to pick one!

I would! I love turquoise so would probably go towards that colour… but everything else is my living area is so neutral I think a lively lounge would work wonders actually.
No convincing needed, it’s on my list already LOL. Love all your sofa options!
I have had my mind on a navy sofa. it is a color that I have loved for years even as my style has changed. I love your picks as well!
I have had a navy blue sofa in my office for years. I just replaced it this year with ANOTHER navy blue sofa but tufted with a chaise. It is by far my favorite piece of furniture in my home.
Love the blue sofa, and love your blog! thanks for sharing.Bedroom Furniture Online
