This week we began sleep training our little guy. It HAD to be done.
He was waking up every 30-40 minutes and I was struggling to survive.
On Monday I took a couple hours to myself, I needed it bad.
The endless sleepless nights had finally caught up to me and I was SO close to bursting into tears.
I left for a few hours and aimlessly roamed the isles of Hobby Lobby and Walmart.
Seems like an odd selection of therapeutic shopping spots, but nothing gets me more excited than finding a frugal find.
I was excited to see these two Waverly prints at Hobby Lobby.
Both these prints make a killer pillow.
You can find this one here.
And this one here.
I would love to design a pre-teens bedroom around these prints.
How cute would that be?
I was also super excited when I stumbled upon this large starburst mirror.
It sells for $199.00, but the mirrors regularly go on sale for 50% off.
$100.00 for this mirror is a steal.
Some may say starburst mirrors have seen their day, but I still love them.
Especially in silver.

I am always on the lookout for a perfect little white vase.
They are so handy to have, great for a coffee table, nightstand, desk, bathroom, the list is endless really.
I found this little guy at Walmart for $3.97.
No complaining here.
It is the ideal vase for styling a nightstand with flowers, like I discussed here.

Lastly, I saw these new red frames at Ikea last night.
I have a crush on them already.
Remember when Jenny did this Gallery wall with red frames?
I am still in love with it.
How perfect would those Ikea frames be for a project like that?
Also, I am happy to report that since we started sleep training, I am now getting 8 hours of sleep at night!
It’s amazing how life changing a little sleep can be!
oh please let me know what you did and how long it took. My 6 month old is up 3 times a night and I tried the CIO thing to stop the 2:30 feeding and after a week of 1 hour crying sessions I gave up!!
I’ve eyed that Hobby Lobby sunburst mirror a couple of times! Great finds. I LOVE that red frame gallery wall!
In my opinion, sleep deprivation is the #1 hardest part of parenting young children. It is a killer! And I have those waverly fabrics on the pillows on the sofa in the playroom. It is fabulous!
Sleep training is so hard but SO worth it in the end! I am getting ready to move my 2 year old in her big girl room and those fabrics would look awesome in there!
I still love the starburst mirrors too. I know they are everywhere but I don’t care.
As for sleep training, I just shared a bed with them when they were babies and now that they are older, I’m glad that I did. I love that special memory. I enjoyed every minute of it!
Yippee for sleep training! Sooo hard to do at first but so worth it in the end! Your little ones are precious! Love the Waverly Santa Maria, in fact, I put it on the backs of my dining room chairs. If you want to take a peek you can see them at the bottom of this post…

I am new to quilting, and have hardly any scraps or stash. I don’t really want to buy felt, but would love to buy some scraps, so yes – definitely start selling them 🙂
Oh those red frames are marvelous!!! I’m so excited about them. Now I just need to go to Ikea. and props to you for the sleep training… it is soooo hard! I got the the same point you were at… ready to burst into tears at any second. That’s when I finally decided my children HAD to sleep!
Good to hear that you’re getting more sleep these days! Every 30-40 min is brutal, I can only imagine. These fabrics are great!! I agree- I love me a sunburst mirror 🙂
