It’s a Boy!

Well, I almost can’t believe it myself, we are expecting a little boy!
I guess I didn’t realize how much I thought it was a girl, because I am in complete shock!
I am super excited, from what I hear boys are great at cuddling and love their mommas…sounds perfect to me.
Here is our little guy’s profile, isn’t he a cutie?
Ok, maybe only a mom can find an ultrasound picture cute.
Now that I know we are expecting a boy, I can’t stop designing the bedroom.
Since moving into our condo 3 years ago, Emory’s room has made a couple changes. It started off with her big girl bed.
And then she graduated to a loft bed.

Now it is time to make a few more changes.
I need to make this room gender neutral, working for a 4 year old girl and a newborn baby boy.
I also want it to be fun and playful, since this rooms doubles as the toy room.
I plan on keeping the white loft bed, black and white chalkboard stripes, the blue drapery, and the aqua furniture.
I am going to switch the pink loft bed drapery to plain white and add ric rac ribbon trim.
I’m still not positive on the color, but I want a fun and bold color.
Something like this…

Next, I plan on buying a Jenny Lind crib and getting it painted!
I’ve already found a few on my local classifieds, making it a very affordable option.
Now this is where you come in.
I’m debating between 3 colors…red, aqua, or yellow?

Keep in mind, I’ve already got the aqua furniture, black and white striped wall, and Emory’s white loft bed.
So, what’s your vote?
Red, blue, or yellow?

Ah, congrats! After having three girls, when our little guy came along I was in shock as well. It’s true, at 3 years old he is very snuggly and does love his mommy a lot. I vote yellow although the red would look fabulous too. Well they all would! I really don’t think you can go wrong!

Congrats, Danielle! Little boys are so fun. My little guy loves on me all the time, it is the best. Get ready for a whirlwind…boys can be crazy!! I love the idea of a red crib paired with the aqua in the room. Whatever you do, it is sure to be amazing! So happy for you!!!!

Congratulations!! Something that would be a really cute option from ric-rac trim is pom pom trim! They have a ton a different colors for sale on etsy! Very anthro right now and still juvenile while visually yummy to adults! Just a suggestion! I think you’d love it! Especially in a bright red! Good luck!

I’m a mother of 4 girls and 1 boy in the middle. I would take 10 more of him any day. (Keeping the girls too of course:) I love the aqua/red combo. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy. Thanks for taking the time to inspire us all even though you haven’t been feeling well.

Hey! I just announced my fifth girl. There’s no shame in making a trade, a tehehehe. I could say the aqua but it seems like such an overexposed color right now. I really love the red and yellow. Oh yes I do.

I love that you are having a boy!! It’ll be fun to experience both!.. I vote red or yellow. I’m sure whichever color you choose will look fabulous because you always design the cutest rooms!

Congratulations! My little boy sure does love his Mama, and it’s such a special bond. You’re going to have so much fun with him. I think whatever you do to this room will look fabulous, but yellow is just so sunny and happy. Best of luck. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

oh, and congratulations on the baby boy… my daughter is 8 months old and we’re expecting our 2nd in April. We’re going to be surprised and find out at birth what the gender is πŸ™‚ I’ve heard little boys are such Mama’s boys though!
