The other day I came across this image on Pinterest and fell in love.
I wouldn’t typically pair red and yellow together, especially in a nursery, but I think it looks amazing.

Even though the color scheme is a little out of my comfort zone, I think the abundance of white makes it work.
This is why I absolutely love Pinterest, blogs, and shelter magazines.
Although I hold great value to my education in interior design, I can’t deny how much I grow as a designer everyday when I turn the computer on. I feel so lucky to be exposed to so much!
I am never at a loss for inspiration and always have examples of great design at my fingertips.
Even if you don’t have a design background, looking at a well designed room can teach you so much.
I am working on a blog series to teach you a few basic principles to follow when designing a room, hopefully it will be helpful!
Do you also love the overwhelming amount of inspiration available?
Or does it do exactly that, overwhelm you?
being an interior decorator, i love all the inspiration! It helps to keep me “well-rounded” instead of just focusing on my taste. Like you said with this image, you would never think to pair these two together, but it looks great! it helps open up our eyes!
I love finding inspiration in images from blogs and pinterest too…but sometimes find it hard to organize everything is a workable way. How do you keep all your inspiration photos and pages from magazines organized so you can reference them when working with a client? Or does your brain just file everything away? 🙂
I love home much I am exposed to all of the time. It has opened my eyes to so many different styles and ideas. LOVE your new blog facelift! Looks great, girl!
I love all the inspiration, but not being a designer, I do struggle with figuring out why some things work and others don’t (“it looked great in the picture, what am I doing wrong?”). Really looking forward to your tips!
Yes! I see so many things that I LOVE and then end up totally confused. I think I have style identity crisis. Sometimes I have a hard time deciding what I truly love. I am looking forward to your series. Maybe it will help the confused. 🙂
So I am a faithful follower of your blog. Today when I visited I noticed that you have been given a make over. Well the blog, that is. I have no idea when you got the new look because I usually just get right to the good stuff and read the newest post. Regardless of when you had it done, I LOVE it! It looks fabulous!
I love all the readily available inspiration out there! Not sure what I’d do without it. Your new blog design looks great by the way. So fresh and pretty.
I love it. It definitely gives inspiration, and makes me think outside of the box. My husband, on the other hand, probably wishes I would quit getting inspired, because inspiration usually means a new project!!
Love this room and I love color! Can’t wait for your new series.
I would never tried this color combo for fear it would come off looking like McDonalds! LOL! What a wonderful job!

Sounds like a great series, Danielle. I’ll be looking forward to it! I love all of the inspiration to be found online (Pinterest, especially), but there’s SO MUCH out there that I have a hard time deciding which way to go because I love them all! ;o)
Can’t wait for your series! I’m expecting our first baby, and I’m totally overwhelmed with planning a nursery!
