I finally tackled painting Emory’s loft bed.
It took me about 3 hours and was NO fun!
It’s kinda hard to see the difference between the blonde wood and the white,
but in person it looks great.
Also, do you spy another addition to her room?
The white table and chairs are from Ikea.
Exactly what she needed to complete her little “play house”.
I am so happy with how it turned out.
The next thing on my to-do list is change out her fan!
It’s hard to tell, but the fan blades are almost overtop of her bed…which is no good!
Unless I want her to take a a ride on them, I need to switch out the fan for a pretty little light.
I have a couple of ideas, but I am not sold on anything yet.
I can’t believe how much her room has changed already.
There is still lots to do in her new room, but I think it is slowly coming together.
Baby steps right?
Head on over here to see how the loft bed was converted from a bunk bed.
Her room is SO precious!! The bed looks great. Such a fun place to play.
It looks absolutely adorable! This would’ve been my dream room when I was a kid!
Beautiful and nice modern bedroom furniture, Great!!!
oh my goodness! What a winner – I bet you can’t get her out of her room… if that was mine, I would have everyone over and never leave. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing – enjoy the rest of your day. xoxo Jalon
It looks so great, Danielle! I love it!
I LOVE it! Such a dream room for a little girl!

What a great room! My 3 year old would love it!!
It’s amazing! I can definitely see the difference between the wood finishes, and it looks great! I also love that you added drapery to soften up the bed. What a fun space. 🙂
that room is perfection! you are so talented. I love it!
I didn’t think I’d like the loft bed more but I do!!! It looks great D!
I would have died for a bed like that as a little girl! Looks amazing love.

Hi! I’m in the SLC area, too! Love what you’ve done to your daughter’s room. My little girl is about the same age and we’re looking to do something similar with a bunk or loft bed. Where-oh-where is this discount fabric store you mentioned? 🙂
P.S. I know it might not fit in with your master vision, but I kinda like the black stripes on the walls…ties in those pretty black and white animal silhouettes.
Danielle, It looks amazing. I love the drapes added to the bunk bed. What a fun room for Emory!
I love it! My little girl has that same kitchen, it looks so great under the bed! Great job!
It is SO fun and pretty! She will never forget this room, you did a wonderful job creating a such a special space for her!
So pretty! I love the pink drapery on the bottom of the bed.

Oh, it’s just darling. The white makes a huge difference. That room screams, “hours of fun!” That table will get so much use. My daughter is turning six and still sits at her little table every day . . draws and plays restaurant for hours.
I love the way the room is turning out. So cute for a girl. Does that bed take up a lot of space?
I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a “pink girl” but I’m totally diggin’ the soft pink you brought into her room. Good call! It’s perfect.
I’m wondering–did you prime her bed with anything special so that the knots won’t bleed through?
Please keep the stripes on the wall and the drapes. They are fantastic! What an amazing room for a little girl! xx
Looks amazing Danielle! I love the palette you have chosen and the little play area underneath the bed is so lovely! Lucky Emory!
Awesome job! I’m sure the painting was torture, but it turned out great!
Beautiful job. What a darling room.
wow! a little more grown up! and still very childish and beautiful! she must have fun in there!
Adorable room!! I love the black and white with light pink, such a fun contrast.
it looks so cute danielle!!!
Is that the Ike’s bunk bed without the bottom attached?? 🙂
Sorry *ikea bunk bed?
Yes it is, It is the Ikea Mydol Bunk Bed!
Love the little play kitchen. Does it have a brand name? It is exactly what I am looking for my little girl 🙂
I have that kitchen in red from Costco… love it!
Yes, the kitchen is KidKraft White Vintage Kitchen, I bought it from Amazon!
Where is the bed from?!
Does anyone know where this bed if from? If it is the IKEA bed, is it stable without the bottom bunk attached?
I want to know too!!!
The bed is from Ikea, it is the Ikea Mydol Bunk. We have never had a problem with stability without the bottom bunk attached. Only the bottom rail from the front of the bottom bunk frame is missing, it is still very stable!
Hope this helps,
Danielle
I just love what you did with her room i I featured a picture of the bed on my blog today, hope you don’t mind.
Have a nice day
Oum
Oh I would love how the red would look in the room!
I just got the same bunk bed for my girls and need to paint it white. If you don’t mind, can you tell me if you had to prime the bed prior to painting it, and if you did it with a brush and roller or did you spray it. Thanks
Where is this bed from? It is similar to the IKEA loft bed “KURA” but is not… please tell!
Wow…this looks amazing! Now I want to do this to my little girl’s room too!
Daisy~
I was wondering the same thing as okdoki about the painting process. I actually think I might paint it before assembling though. Did you prime then paint? And what was your process.
It looks AMAZING! You are my inspiration. I had been to Ikea and would just stare and stare at the beds…one loft bed way too high, the other way too low and then there was this bunk bed that was the PERFECT size but I didn’t know if it’d be stable as a loft. Thank you for showing me that it is! Can’t wait to do this for my daughter as we prepare her room to be shared with her baby sister.
Can I ask where you got the adorable black and white plates from?
I made the plates. It was super simple. I just bought some white ones from a thrift store. I then cut out animal shapes on black card stock and modge podged them to the plates!
I love the cute staff that you have here. Thanks for sharing. loft beds kid
Did you bolt or secure the loft bed to the wall behind?
What white paint did you use?
