I have been head-over-heals for West Elms striped shower curtains since the day they came out.
I knew it was only a matter of time before they would be used as drapery.
The Suburban Urbanists used them in her nursery.
How yummy are they?

Unfortunately, they are only 74″ long which makes them too short for most windows.
Amanda Carol came up with a great solution for her office.
She bought an extra panel and added length to each panel.

Don’t they look great?
And what an affordable way to get custom drapery.
I kinda want to buy some…
Also, my blog was nominated to be part of the 2012 Homies Best Design Blog!

I’ve been thinking I wanted them as well. They are perfect for shorter windows and I love the idea of adding length to them for longer ones@
Alex {Things That Sparkle} says
So creative, love the way they look!
Lisa @ Trapped In North Jersey says
I did the same thing in my bedroom, but I used the twin duvet. Its not as thick a material, but its the right length. Plus, since the duvet is essentially two bedsheets sewn together, I just ripped out the seam and got two curtains out of one duvet.
Danielle Oakey Interiors says
That is right, now that is creative! You are amazing.

Love it!! Such a great way to save some money!
Melissa @ Veranda Interiors says
I did this for my nephews nursery with a great shower curtain from Target, they always seem to have such fun and bright patterns…and it was cheap, perfect!
tricia @ mash-up chic says
OMG, thanks for posting this. I love shower curtains b/c the weight hangs so nicely, plus like you, I’m in love with a bunch online on West Elm, Urban Outfitters, etc. The solution of adding fabric at the bottom is bril!

Agreed, they make the perfect drapery. Kinda funny, I always use drapery panels in the bathroom because I like them longer than the standard shower curtains. Looks like I finally have a use for shower curtains!

awww thank you for sharing my drapery panels! I was loving the citron ones as well-so excited to see that someone used them in their home!
Kimberly Moore says
Ah I LOVE them. I’ve always been afraid of the idea of using shower curtains as drapes. You have to be so tactful but I love these.
Emerson Grey Designs says
I love shower curtains as more then just shower curtains! I actually used one for my daughters bumpers because I loved the fabric so much, and they are usually reasonably priced, which is even better! What a great idea of the extra panel though cause I like LONG drapes 🙂

I am seriously obsessed with all of West Elm’s striped products right now! What a great idea to use the curtains for drapery! I might keep that in mind when I’m looking/making my curtains for my bedroom.

Budget-priced shower curtain sets are typically made of vinyl, or plastic. Although they are colorful with a wide variety of patterns available, this type of curtain usually has a cheap look to it, so it’s a better choice for a more informal style of bathroom. A big advantage of plastic or vinyl shower curtains is that they aren’t prone to mildew.

Hi there! Keep it up! This blog could really help me out with my business. Wow! This is cool. Thank you so much for sharing this one. You have such an awesome page! I’ll be looking forward for your other posts. Drapery is a general word referring to cloths or textiles. It may refer to cloth used for decorative purposes – such as around windows – or to the trade of retailing cloth, originally mostly for clothing, formerly conducted by drapers. Drapes are the perfect way to finish off your window treatments. At Landry Home Decorating our collection of Hunter Douglas drapes includes a variety of fabrics and colors. drapes beverly
