Well, my nightstands are finally done.
Give me a what what!
Not going to lie, I kind of like them.
The process was pretty simple, just time consuming.
Thank goodness for the tutorial from Nancy and inspiration from Centsational girl, I really just followed their lead.
Here is how it went down:
1. Prime and paint the bases.
2. Enlarge a picture of the Dorothy Draper drawer detail and print it out.
3. Make a stencil.
4. Paint!
Go here for a more detailed tutorial.
When I pulled off the stencil there was quite a bit of bleeding, so I ended up going back in with a small paint brush and touching them up.
It took forever and they are not perfect, but I think they look pretty good.
Also, did you notice my new pillows?
$19.99 from Target!
I still haven’t decided if they will stay in my bedroom or not, but I like them there for now.
Oh, and I am still planning on re-doing the headboard.
I just decided not to sell my original headboard until I am ready to get-er-done, hopefully this weekend.
So, what do you think? Are you ready to get your Dorothy Draper on?
they look amazing!!! totally worth all the effort!
It looks fab! You are such a DIY pro!
Thanks, I don’t know about pro, maybe more like crazy?
Those are so pretty, I love the gold on cream! Good job!

Fantastic!! Janell
Looks so great! Good job, dorothy would be proud.
Those look fabulous, Danielle!
I kinda LOVE them! They look fabulous!
They look great! By the way, nothing is more pleasant than a little PINK!
they are cute, but look much more inexpensive than they did before. I was a big fan of the way you had them before. Sorry, but sometimes you need to let good things be.
I did like them stained, but I was ready for a change. Sometimes I just like to switch things up!
You are such a DIY diva!!! They look fabulous. Great job!
The nightstand looks great! (Love the new pillow, too!)
I love the pillow too, such a great deal!
so pretty- glad they turned out so well!
They turned out great! Beautiful update!
They look great! I like the old ones too but I know the itch for change!
I like them in white too!
I like how they turned out! I actually think they look better than what you had because the they repeat the gold in the mirror above your bed. It looks really put together.
wow! I loved it! it is perfect to me!! wow!
They look great- but then so did you old ones!! Worth the hard work, I’d say!
PS Where did you get the blanket at the foot of your bed?
Thanks
Thanks Becca! I got the throw at HomeGoods about 1 year ago!
It looks great. I love how the white and gold look together. I think it would also look great if you did a gold and pink for a little girl’s room. Have a great weekend.
Ahhh they look soo good!! LOVE!
Wow, it looks really great, I love the transformation! I just saw that pillow in Target yesterday and lingered…but, I don’t have any pink going on right now, so sadly had to move away from that aisle…quickly…!
They look lovely!!!! And thanks to your earlier post I went and bought two of the pink pillows for my sister’s navy and turquoise color scheme and one of the blue! Along with some lampshades, so yes I spent 150 in there by the time I walked out
Love what you’ve done with those chests Danielle! All those lovely pastel tones look perfect with the white an gold 🙂
Those look great, Danielle! And I was at TArget this weekend – so many cute things but they were out of the pink chevron pillows (sad face)
They look fantastic! Great job!
YAY! Your tables look amazing Danielle! I love the white and gold together, stunning. I keep saying that when I see all the colors people are choosing it makes me want to repeat this hack in every color! I just don’t know where I’d put all those dressers afterwards, lol. Great job, I know first hand how long & tedious it is but it is so worth it! xo
Nancy
These are fabulous, Danielle! Love em!
Hi Danielle! I love your hack! I am ready to stencil mine and put the drawer pulls on and then–voila!–I’ll have a similar version to yours! This is so much fun! I have a question for you, though. Where did you find your drawer pulls? I went to all of the home improvement stores in town and can’t find what I’m looking for! Any of your ideas would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
Those are so pretty, I love the gold on cream!
These came out awesome! Can you tell me where you got the drawer pulls from? I have been trying to find some similar!
