World Prematurity Day

Everyday I think of how lucky I am to have my little miracle.
Emory was born at 24 weeks and weighed 1 pound 9 ounces.
She spent 96 days in the NICU.
I got to hold her for the first time when she was 27 days old.
It was a long 27 days.

She had one heart surgery, a couple scares of infections, and loved to hold her breath until she turned purple!
After three long months in the NICU, she came home on oxygen.
She remained on oxygen until she was 8 months old.

And thankfully she has only been admitted to the hospital one time since we left!
She is now in perfect health with no outstanding complications.
Thank goodness for all the doctors, nurses, amazing medical technology, and lots of prayers.
We owe everything to them.
Today I will be wearing purple in honor of all the babies born too soon, you should too 🙂

I accidentally wore purple to work today, but now I’ll say it’s for Emory and other babies like her. Thanks for sharing your little miracle, Dani 🙂

Danielle I remember checking your blog everyday praying that Emory was still okay. I will never forget the day Chelsey called with that news. I think of you two often and love seeing pictures of Emory as a perfect little girl (with what one can only assume a dash or two of spunk).

Sweet Danielle, 24 weeks! What a blessing!! She seems like such a sassy little thing, obviously a fighter from birth. I had two girlfriends have 30 week babies this year, tough stuff. 8 months later they are also two, healthy, sassy little girls:) God is amazing.

I happened upon your blog tonight via Pinterest. Your sweet Emory is gorgeous! Both of our daughters were born premature. Parker was born at 33 weeks at 3lbs 12oz & lived for a day & Landry was born at 32 weeks at 3lbs 9oz. She spent 32 days in the NICU. She’s 7 months old now & doing great! It’s amazing how strong willed preemie babies are. God bless your sweet little girl!
