Whether it be Chiang Mai Dragon fabric, sunburst mirrors, or chevron print, if you love it use it!
If it isn’t you thing, don’t!
Since trends come and go so quickly, it seems almost impossible to keep up, so stick with what you love.
Make sure you come back tomorrow for tip #3!
Danielle – you’ve gathered my favorite experts for this series – Thank you! (Love the inspiration photos as well.)
Great tips again- loving what you put in your home/design is so so important!!
Wow I really needed this today in a weird way. I LOVE trends and so do most of my clients. I totally agree. If it’s what your client wants embrace it!
Agree completely!
Completely agree! It is hard at times when you see things that look great in others’ homes. Learning that it doesn’t mean I will love it in mine.
Those are great tips! Trends are kind of tricky. I will never have sheepskin, or cowhide, or antlers in my house… but I’ve second guessed it a time or two when I see the trends used fabulously in other homes!
Thanks for having me Lovely!
I adore all of these images– the first (Kristen Bell’s living room) is one of my all-time favorites. I held off on getting anything in Chiang Mai because it is EVERYWHERE! But I finally placed an order for Chiang Mai pillows last week, and I’m SO glad I did because I love it and it is gorgeous.
Who cares what is “IN” or “OUT” or “DONE.” Do what you love! Great advice.
Amen, ladies! To echo some of the other comments, be true to yourself and, even if the “trend” dies down, you’ll still love what you’ve created in your space. Really enjoying this feature!

Great advice! I think that goes along with copying things you see in friends homes as well (trendy or not)…it may not look the same in yours!
Great tips from three fabulous design bloggers. Use what you love and you can never go wrong.
Great Series I am really loving all the info! This will really help people!
This is a fun series!
All very good tips! Great series Danielle!
