I have received the stylish blogger award from so many of you.
thank you so much, i am flattered!
now 7 things about me…
i was born and raised in canada.
i have dual citizenship and feel so lucky 🙂
i have 2 sisters.
i love having sisters and i talk to them everyday!
i graduated from byu-idaho with a bachelors in interior design in 2007.
the program was SO challenging but taught me everything i know.
i miss school.
i have plans to get my masters one day.
i met my husband in my 2nd year of college.
i was married at the ripe young age of 21.
i know it was only 5 years ago, but don’t we look so young?
we spent a summer living in cape cod massachusetts.
it was incredible.
we rented a small cape style home and had the time of our lives.
i dream of owning a home on the cape one day.
we welcomed our first baby in march of 2008.
she came 16 weeks early (24 weeks gestation) and weighed 1 pound 9 ounces.
we spent 3 months in the NICU.
it was a life changing experience.
my husband started medical school.
uggghhh, that’s all i have to say about that 🙂
i ran my first marathon last year.
i survived and consider it a miracle!
i now spend my days as a mom, part-time designer, DIYer, and i love it!
ok, maybe that was more than 7.
too much info?
Not too much info at all. Isn’t it a miracle what they can do with babies that are born too early. I spent some time in the NICU and can probably relate to you on a very small scale because we were only there for 3 weeks..wow 3 months.
Who gets married @ 21..haha just joking, That is kind of late for those BYU students anyway.
So glad you were awarded – it gave us a chance to learn more about you!
Not too much! You are a gorgeous girl…and I love the glimpse into your life!
Thanks for sharing with all that with us! What a great miracle story you sweet baby girl is!! I would love to live on the Cape someday. I was married at 19, had our oldest at 21!
Wow…5 years?! Time does fly! And Emory looks just like you when you were a babe. Happy designing…you’re good at it 🙂
ADORE that last photo of you. So pretty with your girl.
awww that last pic is sooo sweet! nice “knowing” more about you!
I love these stylish blogger awards because of how much fun it is to get to know other bloggers! I have 2 sisters too, they are the most special things in the world. Nothing better than sisters.
WOW! I was married at 22, child bride. My fourth and last baby was born 5 weeks early and spent 3 weeks in the NICU. During it was the longest time of our lives, after I couldn’t believe how fast it went. Thanks for sharing and congrats on your award!
Was so nice to learn more about you and how precious a story it is to hear of your little girl’s first few months here on earth- quite a little tropper I would say- must have got that from her mama:) xo
Thanks for sharing! I’m glad that you were picked so that we could learn about you! Yay Canada!:)
Loved this post. I love getting to know more about the people that blog! What a long time for the NICU. You’re little girl is so darling! Thanks for sharing!

Congrats on the award! I love hearing about you! What a little miracle baby Emory is. I would love to visit Cape Cod, on the top of my list of places to visit!
Congrats Danielle – you are so deserving! And I loved hearing about your life…I’m also a huge fan of the Cape(dream about living there as well) and didn’t know little Emory was SO little when she was born..what a miracle!! xoxo
Great things to share with us. Don’t you just LOVE the cape? It’s one of my favorite places, as well.
Definitely not too much info. I love human stories and wow you are so young and pretty! So glad all turned out well with the birth of Emory…that must have been a scare and now she is stylin’!! Congrats on the award!
So sweet!
We have so much in common! I was married at 21, went to BYU and graduated in English, and had a baby come early at 23 weeks weighing 15.5 oz. Aside of the med student husband and running the marathon (which I plan to do someday).. Oh and my lack of knowledge on all things cute.. we are so alike! The creepy part? Emory was our 2nd name choice for our daughter.. Her name is Darbi. I’m not a creepy stalker or anything.. 🙂 LOVE LOVE LOVE the stripes!!
What a beautiful little miracle! I am absolutely loving your blog…if you can’t tell by all of my comments 🙂
All I can say is OH MY GOODNESS. I think you are living my parallel life (although yours looks MUCH CUTER!). I too am a 27 year old stay at home mom who went to BYU-Idaho, does interior decorating, and had my first son at 24 weeks gestation. I know…EEERRRIE. 🙂 Anyway, I just found your blog today when both of our sunburst mirror projects were featured on the DIY Show Off and I’m in LOVE with your style and talent! I’d love to get in touch with you! Its not every day I run into another mormon, interior decorating mom, with a preemie, who just happens to be the same age as me. Anyway, I’m not a crazy person, I’m just AMAZED at all we seem to have in common! 🙂 If you’re interested in making a friend contact me at seecatecreate@hotmail.com or visit my blog SeeCateCreate.wordpress.com. I’m so glad alls well with your little family!
-Cheers!
