i love always having a DIY project.
the latest focus is my office/entry.
i completed my $18.00 DIY sunbusrt mirror last week.
now onto my desk!
i have been obsessing over this skirted console table by palmer wiess for a while now.
i love the burlap and orange trimming.
isn’t it stunning?
i can’t believe i didn’t think of skirting my desk a long time ago.
here is my workspace, it’s a good start but it needs some tlc.
aren’t those shelves screaming for some love!?
we purchased the bookshelves and desk unit from ikea.
i like the contrast of the metal desk paired with traditional bookshelves but it looks a little blah, don’t you think?
a burlap skirt is just what the doctor ordered!
it comes in several colors but i am thinking of this milky beige.
i am going to attach the skirt with velcro so it can easily be removed.
i wonder what it is like to sit at a desk with a skirt? anyone?
the trim is definitely my favorite part.
joann’s sells a wide variety of quilt binding.
i think it will work perfectly.
i am going to use this peacock blue.
since i am having my faux bamboo chairs sprayed a similar color, i think they will compliment each other perfectly.
i have a couple coupons for joann’s that i plan on using.
my goal: $10.00
is it possible? i hope so!
Oh- this looks so fun! I really love your workspace- I really love the metal with the clean white! I’m with you though- I think this is going to be a really nice change- it will give this little nook a totally different look and I can’t wait to see how it turns out! I’m also LOVING The deep blue… fabulous!

I love your desk area, it is so compact but has lots of storage! That navy will look great with all of the yellow you have in your home.
can’t wait to see what you do! i know it will be amazing. your DIY projects are so impressive!
I am so jealous of your bamboo chair. I can’t wait to see your skirted desk.
You can’t go wrong with a little burlap! Have fun making it. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
I used to sit at a skirted desk at a design firm I used to work at, and it had a pleat in the middle that I could poke my legs through, so it didn’t bother me to sit at it. Looks good so far!
I love the way your desk area looks. You’ve got great storage with those cute bookshelves. Excited to see the skirt, I love the combo you chose!
I can see it now and it’s beautiful! Especially love the peacock blue as an accent. Stop by my blog when you get a chance – I have a coupon code for 10% off anything at Overstock!

I think it’s a great idea, but I’m one for paint and I think those shelves painted a cool color would be awesome. I was even thinking the blue you picked out would work but you have other plans for that.
Jealous of your chair! I can’t wait to see this project finished and peacock blue will be stunning!
If anyone can do it, you can!! I love being able to picture you at your computer now!
you are so good at DIY. can’t wait to see..
I can’t wait to see what you do with the desk. You may be kicking the skirt as you work. I’ve thought of doing something similar to hide my printer and computer base. I can’t wait to see what you do.
Girl, I’ve spend the last few mintues going through all your recent posts… you have such a great blog here!! So glad I found it 🙂

I think it will be gorgeous! I have kids that are computer-using ages (8-9) and keep my computer in a really visible spot in our kitchen/family room. It sits on a small table and you could see every ugly cord and wire. I skirted it a couple of months ago using velcro and really love the look. Its not quite as easy to sit at, but it looks so much better I’m willing to live with it! A slit/pleat in the front helps. I can’t wait to see yours- I’m sure it will be awesome!
That will be perfect for the space. Can’t wait to see how it turns out! And $10.00 — you can’t beat that!
