now that i am back from my 3 week vacation in canada, i am ready to get some projects done.
my entry/office (gotta love 900 sq ft!) has been on the top of my list for a while now.
when we first moved in the fireplace was painted cream.
my original plan was to paint it grey, which i did, but now i regret it.
although i love the grey color, it makes the space too dark.
i am going to re-paint it a crisp white.
have you ever painted brick before?
not fun.

so here are my plans for the space!
1. paint the fireplace
2. stuff the fireplace full of cut logs. such an inexpensive and stylish fix.
3. send my faux bamboo chair to the painters. (yes, i still haven’t done this!)
4. make or purchase an inexpensive sunburst mirror
5. find (or create) a white campaign dresser.
6. buy a fuzy rug
my budget?
$100.00
i can’t wait to get started!
Sounds like a great plan! I painted my fireplace. 5 coats.. I posted it on my blog today!

This space is going to look soooooo good when it’s done! I know you said you wanted cut logs in your fireplace, but I saw this cool project on Design Sponge last week on how to create faux logs. I want to try it out so bad! http://www.designspongeonline.com/2011/01/diy-project-cardboard-faux-logs.html
That is going to be amazing, I love the color for the bamboo chair! I’ve painted brick before, and it is a pain!!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with! I know it will be fabulous- the game plan is great! I looove the campaign dresser. PS. I painted our brick fireplace (actually twice- one half in the kitchen and the other half on the living room). It’s tough but definitely worth it because it looks great painted!
love the plan- that bamboo chair is pure awesomeness. LOVE it.
Can’t wait to see how it turns out. Seems cozy yet stylish 🙂
I bought a campaign dresser this summer and I’m thinking I should have gone white. good luck! sounds like you have a good plan
Can’t wait to see it… If anyone can do a fabulous room for $100 it’s you!
Cannot wait to see too! I love the idea of stuffing the fireplace with logs – I am so going to do this in my house. Thanks for the inspiration!

Oh I can not wait to see this- love all of your ideas and so want to do that log trick-damn gas fireplace! If you do that for $100, I’m going to be SO impressed lady!
Looks like a great space – can’t wait to see your update!
Great plan my dear. That chair will be so fun painted in a pop of color. It’s a great space for a beautiful, cozy office.
I have painted the fireplace in our old house, purple! It’s been years and thank goodnes I don’t have to do it again. I can’t wait to see it when it’s done. I’m a sucker for a before/after post.
Looks like a great plan. Can’t wait to see it finished. I am on the hunt for a campaign dresser — if you end up making one, I would love a tutorial!
I can’t wait to see what you do with the space! And love that its on a $100 budget! So impressed
100??
wow, i cannot wait to see you makeover this space! a tight budget plus a lot of creativity are sure to make this space fabulous.
🙂
$100? You can, and you will, and it will be so ridiculously fabulous, I just know it 🙂 xoxo
love your inspiration. can’t wait to see how it turns out!
I love painted brick. But it sure does take time.
A nice clean slate to start with. Good luck. I can’t wait to see the finished product.
Where do you take your stuff to be painted? Do you live near SLC, UT? I have several items that I would love to have someone else paint for me. Thanks for the help.
Silly6- this will actually be my first time hiring out a painter. I am taking them to Junque (http://the-chic-life.blogspot.com/) and I will let you know how it goes 🙂

I love your plans! Fireplaces with logs stuffed in look so great (I wish we didn’t have a gas fireplace!) and I love the painted bamboo chair idea 🙂
How was you vacation in Canada? With regards to your fireplace, I think you must paint it crisp white for it to look brighter. And why not pursue your office makeover plans? I’m sure that it will be successful and you’ll have a fabulous office space. =]
Indeed, the fireplace highlights the space! It might be quite hard to find an office for lease that has a fireplace, but the pieces you used to design your workplace are quite great! 🙂
