slow and steady…

i’ve been working hard trying to finish emory’s bedroom.
one of the frustrating things about designing on a tight budget is how LONG it takes.
searching the city for the perfect piece of used furniture and re-finsihing it is way more time consuming then pushing the purchase button at an online store.
fortunately, in the end it is SO worth it.
i am getting very close to finishing her room.

so far i have spent $284.00 on her room.
i still need to purchase a couple frames but hope to finish it for under $300.00!
things left to do:
*paint nightstand
*sew pillows for bed
*hang art wall
*finish chalkboard
*paint & re-cover child’s size rocking chair
ok, so maybe i have quite a bit left….

Wow! Not only are you able to do it on a budget, your picks look expensive. For example, the urn shaped lamp w/a custom looking shade!! Great! I’m dying to know your source list!!

It’s looking awesome so far…can’t wait to see the end result! All for under $300… impressive!!! AP just had a post on buying new or DIY…it was funny b/c I am sure most creative people get into the same rut. I don’t want to pay a lot, so I’ll do it myself, but then my ‘to do’ list becomes enormous and almost insurmountable!

I love how eclectic and fun it looks! Did you do the headboard yourself?? I like the nightstand color- are you changing it up? Your daughter is adorable! I’d love to see where you got everything. I’m already collecting ideas for a big boy room and my son’s only 8 months. Maybe I should slow down! 🙂

I think it’s coming together really nicely! It seems age appropriate for now, and for later when she’s a little older. Great job. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
