i just might be a little excited for christmas.
i do this every year.
i set up my tree yesterday, lights only.
do you think it is a little early?
i plan on having a homemade christmas this year, decorations and all.
tomorrow night we are going to start making tree ornaments!
i think we will slowly decorate the tree this year, one homemade decoration at a time.
maybe it’s a good thing we are starting so early!
thank goodness for martha stewart and all her great tutorials!

when do you start decorating for christmas?
btw- i’ll post part 2 of my diy bedskirt as soon as i figure out how to properly thread my bobbin. i have done it SO many times before but i guess today was not my day….
Danielle, don’t you know the tree goes up the day after Thanksgiving??!! Ha:) I love the thought of a homemade Christmas. Those button ornaments are super cute!
Well, you know I’m with you on the early decorations. The only reason my tree isn’t up yet is that the tree farm we go to doesn’t open til the end of the month. Can’t wait to see all the fun decorations you come up with!
The only reason ours doesn’t go up til after Thanksgiving is that it wouldn’t last through Christmas if it did! We always have a real tree in the family room, and it would be dry and shredding if we put it up early!
You must share your ideas. Check out the ornaments from West Elm. I was at the store yesterday and was hit with the crafting bug. My sister and I think we could make some of them.
I love the idea of homemade ornaments only, sounds so charming and European to me!
I’m traditional and am a “day after Thanksgiving” kinda gal, but I’m giving you MAJOR points for tackling a homemade tree. I don’t think i have the patience for that. 😉
Im all for Christmas and celebrating as long as possible! Im not sure when we’ll start, but Ive allowed my husband to start listening to Christmas music starting this weekend!
I say put up the tree early. We may as well enjoy the season for as long as we can, right? I can’t wait to see all of your handmade goodies. That is what Christmas is all about.

I get the whole bobbin thing, isn’t it frustrating when your trying to finish something!
I have a friend who has her whole house decorated by thanksgiving. I love seeing it early, it gets me inspired to start mine!

Thanks for stopping by my blog Danielle! 🙂 Always great to find some new blogs & I’m looking forward to reading yours!
Love this idea for a homemade Christmas!
I hear you on the bobbin thing to! No matter how many times I’ve done it in the past… it always seems to stump me when I got back to do it again! 😉
I think it would be really fun to make your own ornaments – I am excited to see how this turns out! Make sure you keep us posted! {and I adore the holidays too, so no, it’s not too early.} 🙂
Never too early! Love it. hey, if the stores can do it, why can’t you? I love the thought of a homemade Christmas. Can’t wait to see it come together. {hate the bobbin thing . . one time went through ten new ones as none of them would thread}
How fun…a homemade Christmas! Maybe I’ll join you and so true MS always has great ornament ideas…looking forward to seeing what you create!
Nah, it’s never too early for Christmas! I can’t wait to see all the homemade goodies you come up with!
I am feeling a little overwhelmed just thinking about all those homemade decorations! What a fun way to celebrate!!
Hi Danielle, Christmas decorating can never come too soon! I’ll be starting mine this week. Love the homemade idea — feels like there’s more meaning in it that way. I’ll be watching the process!
