a couple months ago i bought this indira bedspread from ikea.
the color was a perfect match for emory’s room.
i originally planned on using it as a throw at the end of her bed, add a pop of color.
foolishly i purchased the queen size, it was huge and WAY too big for a throw.
it sloppily sat at the end of her bed until i had a great idea.
why not make a bedskirt out of it?
the bedspread was large enough that i could make a bedskirt, hem the edges of the leftover center piece, and still have enough for a throw!
so i got started…
(disclaimer: keep in mind i do NOT know how to sew. i make it up as i go. i am sure there are MUCH better ways of doing this!)
next up, part 2 and the reveal!
Looking good – can’t wait to see the end result! KG
I wanna see noooow! I want to do a bed skirt for my daughter’s room, well actually lots of sewing projects, but first I need to finish my basement so I can have my sewing space back. For now, I’ll live vicariously through you!
Oh this is good! I’ll stay tuned.

Oh, my, good luck. I can’t sew either, but I wish I could. I love the color of the blanket.

Very clever! That headboard looks great as well! Excited about finding your blog!
Wow I bet this is going to turn out great! Can’t wait to see it!
Nice! What a great idea, and that is the lovliest headboard.. xoxo
What a fabulous idea! Can’t wait to see it all finished.
This is a really good idea! For that price, it was worth returning, and the fabric at another store would have cost you at least that much! Very smart.
So innovative Danielle! I am in the same boat as you – I don’t sew – so I am really looking forward to seeing how this turns out. It will give me hope!
