my husband studies 80 hours a week.
living in only 950 sq. ft doesn’t make it easy for him to study at home.
i have been on the hunt for the perfect desk to use as a nightstand.
my current bedroom:
i am immediately drawn to the white parsons desk.
classic, simple, and functional.

although the parsons desk would be nice, i think i will stick to a craigslist deal.
the search is on.
has anyone ever used a desk as a nightstand?
do you like it?
Such a good idea, we live in a 600 sq foot apartment, and it is so hard to fit it all in!
Funny you posted on this today. I have a desk in my guestroom that I am thinking of moving beside the bed…love the look!!
Haven’t done this, but love the look. Good luck in your search.

I love this look- and if it’s functional for your life, then it will be even MORE beautiful for your life! It seems to me, based on your photo, that a little height on that side of the bed will be nice, especially since you have such a statement headboard! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

I used an Ikea desk as a nightstand between two beds in my sons room and he LOVES it!!!!! It is piled high with his books right now. With a chair pulled up to it there is a nice larger surface for a lamp, a few toys and books, and paper in the drawer when he wants to draw. Perfect.

I haven’t but I think it’s a good idea! good luck searching 🙂
Love this idea and LOVE your bedroom- looks like it’s straight out a magazine- adore your pillows, bed and the little antique mirrors are perfect. So pretty!
I love your bedroom Danielle. It is soooo well put together. And for the record, I think a Parsons desk would look fab!
I use a desk as a side table in the living room that I love! It’s from IKEA and it’s technically a dressing table but it’s great for a desk – has a long drawer for storage!

I secretly dream of having one so I can write pretty letters {do I write pretty letters now . . of course not}. It just seems glamorous. I like the idea. Your room looks great
I have seen this a lot lately. You should try Ikea, we got a great deal on a similar desk from there.
Never had one unless you count college…but I think it could work!! Man I’m glad law school was only 3 years…I don’t miss the nonstop studying!!!!(Ronnie had to go to the library because I bugged him to much at home…what can I say…) Good luck! I’ve been looking for one for our guest room. I might have to just build it…
Your room is great… that white desk would be perfect.
I love the idea of using a desk as a nightstand! Some of my favorite inspiration photos have done just that. Good luck with the hunt!
Love this idea and seems practical for many reasons – go for it!
First off I love your bedroom! I love the idea to use a desk as a nigtstand! Don’t all the desingers say that if you have a smaller space get items that do double duty?!!!
It’s gonna look so good!
Luvs!
yes we live in a NYC high rise (44th floor) great views and tight space–I use a parsons desk as a night table, desk and dressing table too! Cute blog=hope you’ll visit me soon!
I think this is a fantastic idea. I have thought about the West Elm parsons desk in that glossy white with a ghost chair….yum! Your bedroom is so pretty!! Go for it girl:)

Your room is lovely, and a white desk in any shape would look gorgeous! xo
I love your bedroom! And I think a desk would be a great choice there!
That is a sensible idea and looks great too…
I never have had the room, but it could work great!
I LOVE your bedroom. Love it. Especially the headboard and flower pillow!
I’m sure you can find a great deal on Craigslist and make it your own.
Maybe you could spoil us with a house tour? 😉 If you’ve already done it and I missed it I apologize!

I love this idea! It kinda feels like a vanity more than a desk. And think of all that space!
if you have the room I think its a great idea!! I love your bedroom btw!
What a great idea! I thank a parson’s desk would be perfect as a nightstand.
