good design is in the details

in order to make a design complete the details need to be perfected.
this week i have been focusing my thrifting trips on the details.
i found a few things that are exactly what i needed.

oil vase: $2.00

jewelry tray: $.25

i also picked up this piece of art for $5.00.
i might paint the frame white, i just can’t decide.

perfecting the details can be the most challenging part of creating a complete design.
i recommend looking for items that are useful but also aesthetically pleasing.
my new $.25 jewelry tray not only complements the design but also provides a useful place to lay my wedding rings at night.

i have SO many projects on the go right now.
i have been saving them all summer knowing that i would soon have a lot of time on my hands.
my hubby is back in school and i am back to spending my nights on diy projects.

some of the things on my list are:

1. re-upholster a chair
2. wallpaper back of bookcase
3. make emory’s headboard
4. sew pillows
5. spray paint frames
6. sew details to emory’s bedding
7. hang plates in kitchen
8. re-finish EAT sign

i am excited!
